Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

I just checked my gamer rep, and it's horrible. 60-some percent of people avoid me. Ouch. 20% said because I was aggressive and 40 said it was because I was unsporting. The only game I've played online was Street Fighter 4, and I definitely played to win, but I wouldn't say I turtled or spammed moves, anything like that. Strange. Ah well.

I wouldn't put much stock in that. I get dinged for bad language, but I never play with a mic...

It makes the "New Add-Ons" section completely useless, in my opinion.
It isn't as convenient but if you put in a game and pull up the guide there is a place on the menu that lists all the DLC available for that game. I agree though the guide the needs re-organized and all the music game put in one place and then pulled out of the other area to make it more convenient. Until then though the disc centered method is usable at least.

Otherwise, you need a specific Xbox transfer cable.
If you are going to transfer some game saves and such you need the transfer cable and disc. Many people have been selling them for like 50$ on ebay.

Which reminds me, i need to get around to listing mine soon.

When i was playing the original SFII on Live i also got terrible feedback. Way more than in any FPS. It cracked me up when people would spam fireballs and then leave me negative feedback because i still beat them.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

I think my dvd drive is about to die . About a week ago, I put in Rock Band 2 and an error message appeared onscreen saying that I had to put the disc in a 360 to play it. I ejected and closed the tray and everything was fine. Now, every time I try to play a game, it says there's no disc in the tray. If I bang on the top of the machine for a bit, it'll eventually read the disc and everything's fine until I turn it off again. I assume that's not covered under the RROD extended warranty .

The only problem arises if you need to use both the HDMI and optical output like I do since my receiver doesn't have HDMI. The AV cable is too big to fit alongside the HDMI cable but a bit of work with a sharp knife does the trick.

It's only based on people that leave you feedback though. So if 4 people leave you a negative and no one 'prefers' you then you are going to have 100% negative.

I posted this in the game deals thread, but since it is 360-specific I will post here as well

Thingfling.com has a mystery xbox360 accessory for sale right now ... all you pay is shipping ($6.00)

Alright, I took a chance. Worst case I'll just give it to my brother and sister-and-law that I just gave a 360 and TB:RB to for their wedding.

There is a dunk tank on the dashboard where you can dunk your friends avatar.

I'm ecstatic so far. I'm very pleased with the differences I notice in the Wii version of RB2 and the 360 version. They are minor but really add to the over all experience. The HD graphics (thru HDMI) are pleasing yes, but I really like the improved audio quality. Not only do songs sound better but there are samples that just dont play on the Wii. Specifically the piano track on Chop Suey. I know I had never heard that sample on the Wii or it was so muddled I couldn't make it out. Crisp and clear on 360.

I still play the Wii everyday (due to AC), so no regrets owning a Wii. And I was happy playing RB2 on Wii. Its just that now was the perfect time to get a 360 for me. With the price slash and the sale of RB2:SE I was set.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

The 360 was the last of the 3 consoles I bought and it quickly became my favorite. Hardware issues suck, the accessory prices suck and paying for live kind of sucks. However, Microsoft flat out nailed the experience. Live is worth every penny it costs, the controller is amazing and the game library is by far the best of any of the consoles. If I had to keep only one for gaming it would be the 360. I still prefer the PS3 as a media hub though Netflix on 360 is great.

Wow, even considering the source material, that product line is kind of underwhelming.

The Penny Arcade Avatar items are the only things that have even come close to convincing me to spend real money on fake clothes so far. Still not gonna do it, though.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

I just bought a 360 Elite at Target. How do I know if there is a free One-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold included? Would there be a "card" inside? I ask this because online sites (Amazon, Best Buy, Sears etc) all state it's included in the box.

Thaks in advance for the help.

You get that by default when you create a new XBL account.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

For some reason, I never got the free one month when I created my account. However, when we created my gf's account, she was offered it.

I went ahead and bought a 12 month card so that I could do the 1 vs 100. But never got that free month in there. Don't know what I did wrong.
