Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

When I get some free money (maybe... my tax refund) I'm planning on getting the 120 Gig HD, since I'd really prefer to install games, and I'm not a big fan of having to delete everything to get a single game installed on my 20.

Anyway, my question is if my console RRODs, can I just hold on to the HD and keep my game saves and everything? Or is that how it works if it RRODs anyway?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

That's how it works. You remove the HDD and send the console in.

Game saves are tied to your profile. DLC is tied to your profile and the console it was downloaded on (or the DRM was last transferred to).

The actual hard drive / memory unit you use is irrelevant.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

How does the "download to xbox" stuff work from the Xbox Live website? I assume you click the link, and when you turn on your Xbox eventually, and sign into Live, the content will queue up and start downloading for you. But whenever I try, it never works. I always wind up navigating to the material from the console and downloading it manually.

When you click the "Download to Xbox 360" button, are you getting a popup dialog that confirms your download? If so, are you confirming it?

Do the items show up in your queue: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/my...Downloads.aspx

Are you using Chrome? It usually takes me more than one click to get that pop-up to, you know, pop up.

Ah, that's the problem. I'm using Safari, and I haven't seen any pop-ups.

shit like that. It seems like they wanted you to play the game through 3-4 times and spend a few hundred hours in MP to get them all. Given the 1 level design nature of the game, I don't see how anyone could sit through this more than twice, tops.

Yeah, those achievements you listed suck.

I'm glad COD4 has no online achievements as I currently suck. My first match was decent. About a 1:1 death to kill ratio. My 2nd and 3rd match however were horrible. I had about 2 kills and 15 deaths. Either my weapons suck or I just don't know how to spot enemies yet.

I use Safari as well and it usually takes two or three clicks before the popup pops up. And then another two or three clicks to add it to the queue. Very annoying but I love Safari and my iMac.

It's the same in Chrome, so it might be a site issue.

Maybe it's because the MS site isn't designed to work with browsers that conform to any sort of standard?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

I get the popup fine on Firefox, but not if i go to another tab before I get it.

Having just gone through my Download History's 256 items to redownload game content, since apparently MS had my licenses spread over three consoles (original, first refurb, second refurb) (and I'm not sure how that happened), I've come to the conclusion that the Download History needs the ability to delete things (I don't need to keep "Upcoming Game Video" or "Item No Longer Available") and the ability to sort by content type.

Yay for being able to do it on Xbox.com though, that makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

So is there a way to do a refresh of the streaming library? I've done all that I can think of, and all of the old files are still showing up. Are there any options that I need to turn on/off on the 360 or the computer?

Also, I've set up a second computer, and it doesn't seem to be able to find the 360 to stream. Is there anything else that needed to be done for WMP to find the 360?

The game play is decent, typical button masher. The only complaint I have is the camera. Too close and I couldn't figure out how to center behind the character, only rotate it.

Has anybody played the full game? How is it? I enjoyed the hell out of NG2, if it compares at all.

I had three levels left of F.E.A.R. remaining and figured I'd knock one out over lunch. My 360 had other plans. My save file was corrupted. I wasn't that into it anyway and it wasn't like the game was tossing Achievements out left and right. The only way to continue is to load up the previous chapter and finish the game from there. Problem is, there is no saving when you load chapters and you lose all your stats you've built up. What a pain in the ass.

That's the third time this generation that I've had a save file go bad (Rez HD, & TR: Underworld). I've had zero go bad in all my years of gaming until now. I guess I'll be backing shit up on the memory card from now on.

I don't feel bad for you since this happened to me numerous times on the PS2 Luckily the 360 hasn't screwed me over yet.

I'm in process of writing my review.
