That's why delivery confirmation is worth it's weight in gold. I found out the hard way as well. The percentage of dishonest people out there is astounding.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Ok my launch console finally RROD today, claim i'm out of warranty, escalated up two levels of support and should be getting a call back. Does anyone think I have a chance to get this thing fixed for free, I mean they've admitted fault that all launch early versions are going to fail eventually right? Barring a free fix do I get a new arcade (and if so what should i look for), or pay to get this thing repaired, I would love to get HDMI but thats only in the elite correct?
Thanks.
Thanks.

They extended the RROD warranty 'to' 3 years. If you have a launch system the three years were up a few months ago.
... and 131 posts in 8 years? Wow, that's restraint.

arcades have hdmi. my launch unit died at the beginning of the month - i had purchased the extended warranty (which ran through october). turn around time for the repair (to include shipping of the coffin to me) was less than 2 weeks.

1 vs. 100 will be free for all XBL Gold members: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/1/1v100/default.htm
Should be a blast especially if the prizes they're rumored to offer are worth anything at all. I wonder if they'd allow private games with 101 DVD Talkers

Also, if you purchase Tversity, post your experience with it. From the info on the website, seems like it will have quite a bit of capability the free version does not. I'd be interested in purchasing it, if it adds quite a bit of functionality.
Edit: Apparently you can download and try the pro version of Tversity as long as you like and then you can purchase a license if you like the software... at least that's what their site says currently, so I'm going to give the pro version a go.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Well I installed this evening and so far, not overly impressed. Of course its still beta... but still having issues. I was able to subscribe to the Star Trek feed through Hulu, but can't seem to get it to play properly through the 360. The 360 sees it but there are issues. Tried the Marvel videos from Hulu and it was choppy, had some loading issues, etc. I thought it might just be my setup but others on the Tversity forums are reporting similar.
Also, the "off screen" browser seems a bit clunky. From the Tversity site:
"There are however, as is usually the case with a new technology or feature, a few caveats. The Pro edition requires a faster processor for doing its video encoding via an off-screen browser and it requires (for now) a sound card and a sound driver with support for Stereo Mix (on Vista Stereo mix must be manually enabled). While we will be working to relieve some of these in future releases, we expect that many (if not most) of you have these requirements satisfied already."
This results in Premium Content playing audio on your PC while its streaming over to your media extender, and it seemed when I stopped playback on the 360, that it kept playing the audio on the PC. I had to stop sharing and restart to get it to stop.
But its still beta. I'll keep playing with it, but at this point I can't see paying for it.
All the media from my desktop PC streams fine through it over to the 360, but I can do that for free.

Question here for you guys; is there anyway to clone hard drives? I know the hard drive transfer option, I've done that before. But I'm getting a 2nd 360 to put in another room and wanted to know if I could keep my downloaded songs and everything by having 2 hard drives with the same stuff on it?

As for saves and whatnot, I keep my gamertag and current saves on a memory card. If you don't have your gamercard on a MU and are switching between boxes a lot, prepare to spend a lot of time recovering gamertags, which takes forever.

There's nothing stopping you from downloading DLC again from your download history (or the marketplace) at no charge. I've got 2 360's, and download all my RB DLC to both boxes.

I'm not too worried about saves, just DLC and XBL titles.

I'm sure something like this has been asked or come up before, but is there anyway to transfer save files associated with an offline profile to a new XBox Live account? I have an XBox at work and we've unlocked just about all the characters in Street Fighter IV, but I just got a Live account since I was given some points to use and don't want to have to unlock everyone again.

Are you going to use the same profile?
Sometimes saves are linked to profiles/accounts, so if you copy a save from another profile to use it in another profile/account, you can risk getting banned. That's specially true if the new account will be online.
And yeah, that's not always, and even some games won't allow you to do that, but the risk is there if you do it.
