Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
My Gold account expired the other day so I finally just repurchased through Xbox.com. However, when I go to play MW2 I get an error stating, "This profile is not authorized to play online" (or something to that affect). As a I test I popped in L4D2 and that allowed me to do a random quick match online. Is this an issue with MW2 and their servers or an MS thing?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I recently replaced my old 360 with a new Arcade edition, transferred my hard drive over and have no more red ring issues. However, now, when I sign in, a message pops up and says it cannot connect to live Messenger. I am still online, I can still download content, any ideas?

Per Major Nelson, yesterday's New Year Premium Theme was indeed messed up. Re-download it now and it should work right.

Well, I thought it would never happen to me. :(
Xbox Elite Spiderbite Obit: Conceived: 2-27-08 Born: 9-6-08 Died: 12-22-09 I sold my original Halo 3 Xbox for this Elite to a friend and it is still going strong and was bought when Halo 3 was released. Looks like I made the wrong choice. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Is there a reason why these XBOX's go to die? and do they happen with most or just select few? Would that happen to recently manufactured ones?

I keep checking my status hoping for a 1-2 day turnaround, but apparently I'm not going to be so lucky on Christmas week.

Well, I may have been wrong. It might be the power pack. After I looked it up, I noticed it states the 3 red rings are supposed to be flashing. My were just three solid red rings. I unplugged it, as was suggested, and plugged the power brick into a different plug it and it worked fine for the moment. Guess I am going to have to tinker with it a bit to see what exactly is wrong. |

Seems like a decent price to me, I think used prices are usually in the $85 range. |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I just checked gamestop.com and they are selling refurbished for $99 so looks like I came out ahead.
I don't have a transfer cable, do they sell these in stores? |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
It's authentic from an Elite. I was careful not to get one of the 3rd party brands. I heard a bunch of those were banned with the fall update. Ebay is littered with them.
I wanted to get a 250gb, but there aren't many of those available. I missed the boat on a few of them that went for $115-130 |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
i searched google and couldn't find a specific answer...
with the MS rechargeable battery for the wireless controller...can you leave it in the charger for an extended period of time without harming it? thanks. |

I know this, because as my battery died, I used to run it on the cord. Then the battery got worse, and wouldn't last 5 minutes without me re-plugging it. Now I run it off the charge cable, and no battery! |
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I've always thought the plug & play is a total waste. Buy a slew of good rechargable AAs and keep some in a charger at all times. It takes just a few seconds to swap out batteries and you can also use them in your guitars, drums, turntables and remotes as well.

Do you mean the plug and play? I believe there is an automatic shut off. To turn it back on, you need to unplug and plug it back in.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Disney avatar items are supposed to be up now in the marketplace, but they're not actually retrievable yet.
I'd like an enchanted broom, but not for 400 points. Might get a jacket or hoodie. |
