Am I missing something on the Watchmen bonus content? All that downloaded for me was a trailer for The End is Nigh, which, correct me if I'm wrong, is an XBLA game coming out....tomorrow...that will have a free trial available.
That special RE console does look pretty slick, and actually like a reasonably good deal as well.

I don't know if this has been mentioned... but if you purchase any xbox live item at Best Buy you get two free tickets to see Watchmen. You could pick up a 1 month Gold subscription for $8 to maximize the value, but I went ahead and got a 1600 point card for 19.99 and then got the free tickets. Seeing as how I would have paid to see the movie anyways, free points for me!

Microsoft is offering a $10 discount off Xbox Live Gold subscriptions to those currently set up with free Silver accounts. Ads for $39.99/year Gold accounts have popped up on Xbox.com and within the Xbox 360 interface, causing some confusion as to whether this is a permanent price drop.
Contacted for comment, Microsoft told us that it is "currently running a promotion in-dash that gives Silver members a special opportunity to upgrade to the full benefits of Gold membership at a reduced price for a limited time." Specifically, it's being extended to all current and new Silver accounts, redeemable via the 360's dash and on Xbox.com, and ... doesn't have a set end date, according to MS. But it is time-limited. (Love those invisible time limits!)
Some retailers, including Amazon.com, are offering physical 12-month -- actually, 13-month -- account cards for the same $39.99 price. When asked, Microsoft said that this is no indication of a planned permanent price drop for yearly subscriptions. Sony's PSN crew just smiled.

But I bet the majority of XBox Live Silver members have no clue about the Amazon deal and many of them will jump at this deal. You know, clueless parents who want to shut their kids up!

By the way, this may be one of the greatest days for demos we've had in a long time. 3 new games that I actually have interest in, plus the Watchmen arcade game.

No doubt. It sucked to upgrade but it is hella nicer now.
I haven't sold my cable on Ebay yet but some folks said they got $50+ for their cable and disc.
I sold my blanked 20 gig HDD on Amazon for 35$ so that recouped a bit of the expense of the upgrade.

About the Watchmen tickets from the Best Buy promotion, do you get actual coupons when you buy the Xbox Live points/months, or do you get a coupon code you have to redeem online and then print from home?
