Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

So I picked up Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Wii when it was on sale for $119 at Amazon a few weeks ago and my wife and I dig it. We like the drums and the new guitar, playing the game with the new instruments and our Les Paul from Guitar Hero III. Today I saw that Rock Band 2 for Wii, game only, is on sale for $39.99 at Toys R Us through April 11. We don't really have money for the $189 special edition package but we love the RB 2 song line-up (I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan). I'm considering picking up the game only and using the Guitar Hero instruments. According to the compatibility matrix, it looks like we should be able to use GH III and GH: WT instruments for RB 2.

My question is this: do you recommend buying the disc-only of RB 2 for $39.99 and using the GH:WT and GH III instruments this week or wait a few months for a price dip on the RB 2 special edition package of instruments?

Thanks. :)

Wait, so this track pack has new songs on it, unlike the other packs? I'm confused.

If I will be able to play Would? on my PSP, it better be coming for RB proper or there will be hell to pay!*

We have the HM/MC concert in Blu-Ray and it was kinda funny see the entire family sitting there with 3D glasses watching the concert. Of course that moment lasted for 5 minutes. They are not big fans either.

As long as they are compatible, I'd go for the disk only. I use a pair of Les Pauls on my PS3 with RB1 drums and a USB mic that I bought used (I think it was originally for Boogie). It all works just fine.

I have to warn you now though...Rock Band is a far superior game, and you will spend a ton on DLC.

Wait...what is this?

I thought this was just going to be a disc release for songs that were on DLC...but Kryptonite isn't even available at all on any Rock Band platform, and this has songs from the RB2 disc? I'm confused...
