I'm a convert. I loved the Les Paul, but the RB2 Strat has won me over(the RB1 Strat was ass by comparison). I'd take that any day of the week over any of the GH guitars. The WT guitar is close, but the clicking kills it.

I haven't tried the GH drums, but the RB2 suit my needs fine.

I'd get the game only. It's the cheapest route. If HMX did a guitar/game bundle I'd recommend that. You could probably pick up a cheap used one at Gamestop to check out.

Me too. I got a RB2 strat when my Les Paul started flaking out. I had to get used to it, but now I prefer it to any of the GH guitars. The RB1 strat sucked.

Ultimately I'd like the "click" of the strummer on the GH:WT guitar with the fretboard of the strat. The click helps on the fast picking stuff for me anyway.

I also prefer the click. I just need that little bit of feedback.

For drums and mic, you're all set. I don't even thing there's much debate about that...some will prefer RB2 drums, but not by much, and how many sets of drums do you REALLY want?

So if the GH guitars feel OK to you, then you are in good shape IMO.

I wouldn't get the GHWT drums if you plan on playing Expert in RB. There are quite a few songs that will chart at least part (if not the whole thing) with the snare on yellow and hi-hat on red. That would be kind of odd on the GHWT kit.

Unless I misread, he ALREADY HAS the GHWT kit.

To those with the Rock Band cymbals, would you recommend the triple cymbal or double cymbal pack?

I've got a gift card to Best Buy, but they only have the double cymbal in stores. Online I can order the triple cymbal, but shipping is expensive. I'd rather go through Amazon for free shipping.

I was just wondering the same thing since I finally saw the double cymbal pack at Target. Wasn't sure if I should pick it up, or wait to see if I could get the triple pack later on down the road.

Playing RB drums with the GH drums will be weird. It seems to work okay the other way around though (playing GH:WT / Metallica with the RB drums).

Speaking of DLC, no thoughts on Journey? I was actually thinking about getting it tonight on PSN, and I know the 360 folk have at least tried it out.

Im going to find out just how weird it will be. Getting Wii RB2 game-only this week and will be trying it out.

I blame HMX for muddling this up. One color pad should always be snare. Always.

And its really going to get messy when RB3 comes out with I would assume a new kit that includes cymbal pads. Every drum chart will have to be redone past and present. What are all those that bought the add on cymbals going to do when orange is added, or more colors perhaps if they decide to make a 6 pad kit?

I asked at the GDC conference if they've painted themselves into a whole with 5 lane guitar and 4 lane drums and they said that they would continue to innovate on these, and wouldn't see any additions for a while.

It's Journey. It's awesome. What else is there to say? :D

It's awesome. Very easy on guitar, except for the insane little fill/riff HOPO sequence at the beginning. It sounds great, too, although there is no crowd-sing-along, which is weird.

But it's one of those songs for me that the chart and stuff really doesn't factor in, because it's just a song you want to have and play.

Heartbreaker is really great this week, too.

I want this for DLC! Would be fucking amazing for vocals.

You asked a great question.

Will be interesting how they move forward without messing up what they have already done.

I have the double pack, and there are certain songs where I wish I had the three pack. I currently have mine setup as yellow and green, but some songs use blue as well. It feels a little weird to drop back down to a pad when I know the song is really wanting a cymbal. I know you can buy a single separately, which I might do, but then that would increase my overall cost to $50, which is $10 more than the three pack. Something in my brain won't allow me to do that at this point. :)

I gave up on playing with my 2-pack. The height is a big factor as well as inability to angle them. I guess I could mod them at some point, but I'm too lazy to do it. Got them in the Circuit City closures and only wanted them for one song (Foreplay/Long Time). I used them as blue and green (was much easier to have the blue over the yellow pad for open hi-hat notes.)

Saw this come across Twitter earlier today. From Fred Durst:

"@crystalgayle2 limp bizkit rock band package coming soon. It's going to rock hard!!"
EDIT: I see he mentioned it back on 3/23. I don't think it was posted then.
