Rumor from Kotaku:
MTV Games and Pepsi appear to be teaming up for a Rock Band-themed, Pepsi-soaked promotion this Summer, giving away up to 1 million free Rock Band tracks to lucky sugared soft drink swillers.
According to an anonymous tipster, Pepsi will be handing out 10,000 free Rock Band tracks to consumers via an "under the cap" contest for seven weeks, starting in June. All one need do is pick up a bottle, twist the cap off, then look underneath to see if they were an instant winner or a total loser. Beneath that cap will be one of four Rock Band instrument icons or a message about how bad your luck is.
Pepsi and MTV Games will also be giving away one of those coveted "MTV Moonmen"—the spacey, silvery prize given to MTV Video Music Award winners—to whomever creates the best Rock Band, video then uploads it to the Pepsi Rock Band contest site.
That contest prize looks like it'll get you on the tee vee, meaning instant fame.
Pepsi's Rock Band contest runs from June to September, according to details we were provided. We've attempted to confirm with MTV Games and Pepsi, but have not yet heard back on requests for clarification.

I'm not sure, but these sound like pretty bad odds, how many bottles of Pepsi (and assorted brands) are sold in 7 weeks? 10 million? You'd have to drink 20 bottles a day for the entire 7 weeks just to win a single song.

Pepsi. Ewww. Why can't Coke ever have a decent promotion like this?

Wait, I'm confused. The contest will give out "up to 1 million free Rock Band tracks," yet they'll be "handing out 10,000 free Rock Band tracks." Also, the contest runs for seven weeks but also runs from June to September (which is at minimum 9 weeks). Did they not proofread this announcement?

Nice! They are Spinal Tap, except none of the comedy is intentional.

If you haven't seen the guitar charts yet, make sure you check out the Spongebob ones. They look to be hella fun, but I'm a little biased for the content anyway. Especially the solo on Where's Gary.

You know when you're at a restaurant and you order a Coke... and the waiter/waitress asks "Is Pepsi okay?"
The answer is "Fuck no! What are you crazy?" Nothing else is acceptable.
There are only a few things I miss about living in Atlanta... 1) Atlanta Braves baseball; 2) Fellini's pizza; and 3) watching Pepsi people squirm when they're treated like criminals for ordering anything but a Coke product.

Journey of course is a buy as soon as I get home. I plan on getting all of the Spongebob ones for the kids. I can imagine the best day ever being played a lot at my house.

The little HOPO section in "Don't Stop..." is pretty funny. I was dreading it being strings of four descending notes, as I tend to play them too fast (GGHT, especially). Instead, I was nailing them, and it was awesome. Then they sped up. I managed to get to the final chord of that intro flashing red. So I took it into practice mode afterwards, and at full speed I can hit anywhere from 50-85%. Yeah, that one's going to be a pain in the ass during setlists, since I'm destined to fail a good portion of the time.
"Heartbreaker" is a great addition, too. I love the song, and had 10 times more fun with it than I did in GHWT.

Viacom > MTV > MTV Games > Harmonix
2009 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards last weekend
It isn't rocket science. And, even though my daughter voted Rock Band, GH:WT still won "Best Video Game".
Ingrates... Maybe the Spongebob songs should have hit last week.

I was confused too. I bolded the one that appeared more accurate. We'll see where it goes.
