You didn't really ruin anything, just found it odd. Keep on with the challenges. Maybe get rid of just a Top 5 and post everyones scores?

I thought when Shag posts his thanks... it's in order of placement? At least it seems that way. In that case, I don't need my score shown.

That's exactly what order it's in.

Seeing as I would have placed fifth if YOU weren't competing I take offense that a lurker can compete! IT IS JUST NOT FAIR!!!!!!!

Totally kidding :-) These side competitions are a lot of fun! This Saturday was going to be movie day but I think it will be learn to play the drums/guitar day instead! :-)

BTW - Shagrath, Emo War Book is mine and a friend's band. It is in the first few posts as being on the top list so I wanted to make sure we got credit :-)

posting everyones scores is the fear that's keeping me from entering... especially when it involves vocals.

How about a Voxtar/Voxdrums challenge? Or was there one already and I missed it.

Can't believe they didn't use the radio master for Last Resort. Sounds terrible.

What did they use instead? What exactly sounds different?

That has nothing to do with the version. That's just the song.

Did you get the song or are you just listening to the preview clip in the store? (Cause I've noticed those sound horrendous usually.)

Buyer beware...sounds like the first take or something. I thought it was just me til I read the Npaean comments and everyone can hear it.

I checked out the video as I do know for all songs I love because of my Tempted download, but I think they dropped the ball bigtime on Last Resort. Almost sounds like he is a teenager whining.

Usually I would agree with you on Papa Roach, but I actually like that song. But it is considerably different than the song that got airplay.

Not that I have any idea, but I'm wondering if it's not a product of the vocal track losing some tweaked production work when it's put into the game. I noticed several of the Nirvana tracks sounded a lot rougher than they did on Nevermind, and I've noticed it on a few other tracks as well. It's like some of the production effects/cleanup gets taken out and we get the raw vocal track. Sometimes I imagine that's not a good thing.

Wouldn't surprise me if that was the case...but the differences I have no noticed have always been more subtle. The only time I can remember a glaring difference in masters (other than Live versions of course) were the Nugent masters GH used and that was only because they used re-recorded versions because of rights issues.

The way to know if this is the case is to get some lil wayne in the game.

But yeah, the vocal track sucks worse than it normally does.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Last Resort's vocals sound like a horrible live version.... I'll be skipping it for sure now. How does stuff like this happen? Hasn't anyone working at Harmonix heard the real version - I'm surprised they wouldn't ask the record company if they got sent the wrong masters... (reminds me of The Cab's "One of THOSE Nights" which has an entirely different version than the actual album version because Harmonix was sent the wrong material...)

Not a vocal issue, but I've noticed that the Serj Tankian song in the game sounded very dull. Almost like the treble knob was turned all the way down, and overly compressed.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

So March 25th is the one year anniversary of the Boston pack. Ten is a damn good pack to follow that up with on the 24th, but how about another Boston pack?
