LOL, I am married too I brew beer, and have a 4 tap kegerator of my own beers rocking near my gaming room.

I do imagine kids will throw a wrench, so I told my wife we have to hold off until I beat Fallout 3.

I'm getting ready to bottle up my first batch this weekend - did a mirror pond clone, looks pretty good! We've got the fridge, just need the tap setup and some holes cut then i'll start kegging after that. One or two taps for beer, one for root beer.

Well, I already did a program for sex addiction so I am all programmed out for a bit and will just live with my problems. If anyone else is suffereing from a sex addiction, the best solution is marriage.

I go through phases as well. Between work, a non-profit board I'm on, and family/friends, I only have time to have one hobby at a time. I have a huge pile of unfinished games + WoW and I really only have time to play an hour or two a week.

Re: Finding time for video games

My leisure time is cyclical between playing console games, playing World of Warcraft, watching films and watching TV series on disc. I am usually doing one of these things heavily in any given month but hardly any of the other. I gamed a lot on my console during November and December but have since started playing WoW again and watching tons of movies.

And then of course I need to fit in time to work a full-time job, take 2 college programming courses at night and do homework, and maybe even use the nice home studio I put together to actually write and record music.

This is why I will never have kids.

Re: Finding time for video games

I usually play video games (and play online poker, watch my shows/movies, etc) after the wife and kids go to sleep. Perhaps I end up getting less sleep than ideal, but I'm willing to trade a bit of sleep for the Jeremy Alone Time. I don't seem to function much differently with five or six hours per night than I do with seven or eight, plus I can get a bit of extra sleep on my way to/from work, since I take public transportation.

Re: Finding time for video games

Sounds like the solution is simple:

Get rid of the kids. If that doesn't work, ditch the wife, and finally the job.

I'm married (childless) and have plenty of time to play games every day. I've got a pretty good job with decent hours, which allows me to have plenty of free time.

Yeah try the Video Game Exchange forum. If they are still young and cute, you may have better luck on eBay.

4 - 5 hours of sleep a night tells me that I still game too much.

Re: Finding time for video games

During the week I wait until the wife and kids are in bed to get my alone time - for gaming or watching movies my wife has no interest in. usually sometime around 9ish to midnightish. Weekends are no different because it can be inevitable that I will be called in to work at the hospital.

Re: Finding time for video games

Through most of my college years, most of my time was spent either working or doing homework/going to class. In the past few years since that chapter of my life came to an end, I've gotten back into gaming, but it's much more casual now than it was when I was in HS. I manage to make a decent amount of time for it these days: 1-2 hours on a weeknight if I have no social obligations or nothing's on TV, maybe 3-4 hours a day on weekends.

Re: Finding time for video games

Yesterday I took a nap in the afternoon to be ready for a long night of gaming... at 10:30 pm I was already ready for bed... at 11:00 pm I finally went to bed really tired.

Yeah, really sad.

Re: Finding time for video games

I'm in the same boat as CRUZNESS, but I don't work in a hospital on the weekends. Here lately, weekends have been good for gett'n the BAND together. Me and the "husbands" burn out the notes on GH:WT Our wives make fun of us because we suck and are playing with plastic instruments ( that are supposed to be for our kids) ....but hey, it's all good!!!!

Woah, some of these stories sound really familiar. I've been working or going to school full time and haven't had time to play many games lately. Which is a shame, because i have a ton of games I want to play.

Having ambition and responsibilities really sucks.

( I work at a middle school) You should see the looks I get when I try to explain to 12 and 13 yr olds that I am not that "skilled" at HALO3 due to the fact that I have to actually "spend" time with the family!! They completely freak out when I decline an invitation to play...because I have "Work/family stuff" to do!!

I just don't have time for them like I used to, either. That said, I could really use some priority balancing in my life, overall.

I play while on the elliptical machine. Yeah people may beat me occasionally win Tetris or Dr Mario. Little do they know i'm doing it on an exercise machine cranked to ten and they are sitting on their fat ass.

Re: Finding time for video games

I found out that ever since I quit playing WoW, I not only have more money for games, but more time to play them. I try and get a few hours a day in if I can.

I'm scared to leave my 360 alone, I am sensitive to the negative blogs it leaves on 360Voice.

Heh, i worked at a middle school for 5 years (am at a high school now) and did my best to jealously guard my gamertag. A couple students who puzzled it out would just hound me to join their games. They couldn't understand that i wasn't that good due to not having the time they have and also that i wanted to play with buddies - not kids from school.

Haha, this is my exact situation as well. I usually spend an hour at most playing games... I could stay up, but I like my sleep too.
