There is a really informative thread on this subject over at CAG. I'm at work right now and can't access CAG so I'll try to remember to link it when I get home.

Oddly enough, I get cat things in my Gold Box too. It's weird seeing it mixed in with comic books, movies, and video games.

Hmmm... Now I'm thinking of going back to the GoW3 thread and figuring out who all had those bruised labias. There's got to be a connection.

Damn. That and Red Dead are all I'm trying to get. (I'll worry about Fable III later.)

That's basically what I summed up. I haven't seen that thread in a while.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Thanks for the tips Corvin, I’ll try those out

And I am also getting cat related shit in my gold box too. But I’ve never bought any pet related stuff from Amazon before. Weird.

at all the cat shit popping up in everyone's GB. Make's you wonder if Amazon has a sponsor paying for GB placement.

Thanks for the tips Corvin. Very helpful. I preordered Mario Galaxy 2 and started personalizing.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Sure thing. Credit goes to CAG though. I just summarized what I read on there a year ago and have been doing since.

Well I fucked up yesterday. I ordered a book & cd yesterday and forgot to follow my own advice. I didn't go in and tell it not to use those for recommendations so today I have 6 things in my GB, all CDs and books.

GameStop has their Game Day sale up now. Some pretty good prices including COD 4, 5, and Prototype for $19.99 each

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Rock Revolution still $5.

I wonder if Amazon will match any of these. I might be tempted to get Afro Samurai for $10 or Sacred 2 for $20. No tax and prime shipping would seal the deal.

Mmmmmm, Prototype. I think I hear $20 weeping in my wallet.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I was really hoping for a B1G1 on used games from Gamestop this weekend. Oh well, my wallet thanks them for not doing it (although I've waited about as long as I'm going to wait to grab Demon's Souls and Heavy Rain, so maybe not).

Price jumped to $39.99 when I added it to the cart. Good luck on getting yours.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Just came from Best Buy and for all the DualShock haters out there I walked away with a RocketFish PS3 controller. Regular: $49 ~ on sale for $25. I'm not sure how long the sale price is for.

rocketfish

I haven't used it yet but it feels extremely comfortable, not 360 comfortable, but infinitely better than the DS design. R2/L2 feel like triggers and just by looking at the pic(clickable thumbnail) you can tell it has the concave analogs that the 360 sports and in the 360 ergonomic layout. The only thing that seems off is the R1/L1 buttons. They are spaced a bit far from R2/L2 which could be awkward depending on the game(I'm guessing).

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yes indeed, unlike that other third party one.

That's the only downside of the other controller.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Used it for about an hour on GoWII before it died (didn't have a full charge). Got used to the L1/R1 placement pretty easy. It's a stretch, but not a deal breaker. The face buttons are a bit smaller than the standard DS or 360 controllers. Also, not much of an issue, just different. The R2/L2 triggers are just that, actual triggers, which means no more slippage.

Overall the controller definitely has the feel of a third party product in regards to build, but it is comfy and has already satisfied my needs. I haven't tried anything with Sixaxis yet, but the overall weight feels good. It's a tad lighter than both the DS and 360 controllers.

Early thoughts? Short of a Ben Heck mod or dropping a boatload on this (and going wired), this is probably as good as it's going to get for a fully functioning controller. The Shadow had a better build quality and feel, but lacks Sixaxis.

Definitely worth the $25 but hard to justify $50 considering the build quality.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Regarding Gamestop sale...any chance to get IL-2 Sturmovik for $20 is a good time.
