And yes, Target allows you to return part of your purchase and the discount is prorated to the other items, while Best Buy includes the discount as a package -- requiring to return all three items together.

Disappointing Best Buy promo.

Hmmm... now I'm wondering if I wait until next week to pick up my preorder of CoD (as I was planning to do anyway -- waiting for some early reviews to trickle out before committing to the purchase), could I also get Skyrim for 40% off (or even more with GCU)? I know it would probably require a Manager's override, but I suppose it's worth trying.

So is it best to use the game you don't want as the free game? Or should it be for one of the two purchased games?

Basically at Target, it's buy three games, get 33% off each item purchased. You can return one, two or three of them for the appropriate credit.

This time at Best Buy it's buy 1 item, get 40% off the other. I think you'd have to return them together if you had to return one. Not sure how it would work otherwise. Also not sure exactly how GCU stacks with this deal (but it should stack).

Best Buy B2g1 was Dec week 1 in both 2014 and 2015.

If you do the b2g1 online for Target, you can also cancel the items you don't want right after ordering. This way you don't have to return anything.

If I sign up for the GCU, will the B2G1 stack on top of the GCU discount?

I'm tempted by Target's B2G1, but if I can start at a discount and go from there, I would rather wait.

The discount did sack the last two years. Not sure if they're doing the deal again or not. This is the first year that GCU won't stack with BF promotions though.

They announced GCU wasn't going to work on Black Friday like six months ago.

I don't think they "announced it", they updated their terms and conditions (which matty linked to) and people noticed it.

No they sent out an email saying they changed terms and conditions and it was buried in there, so they didn't exactly do it on the sly and it was enough warning so that people scoured the document and found out fairly quickly.

Get a New 3DS on Black Friday for $99.99. Not sure if any retailers have been listed.
