According to reviews on Best Buy's website, people have been having trouble activating their card. Has anyone here had any problems and if they resolved it?

Activating what card?

The activation for the gamer's club unlocked, I mean.

Everything is activated at the counter when you check out. If you are already a rewards member, just use the same info and link it that way.

Decent deal for Sams Club members.

Spoilered for size.

One time I actually used the Rewards card instead of my phone number and it didn't register the GCU discount. It always works online and with my phone number at the store. Last time I went to the store I just used my phone number, so I don't know if they fixed it.

According to SD Meijer has multiple X1 consoles on sale.

500GB consoles are ringing up at $309
1TB consoles are ringing up at $359

Also if you purchase a 500GB console you're eligible for a $50 GC as well.

A few caveats. Not everyone has been successful at all of this. Some are getting the $309 price. Not all are getting both the $309 price and the $50 GC. I haven't seen anyone successful with the 1TB consoles.

I tried the Halo 5 bundle about an hour ago, but it rang up at $459.

Lots of XB1 deals going on:

Gamestop:
Now - November 21st - $100 credit toward new Xbox One when you trade in your PS3 (120GB+) or Xbox 360 (250GB+)
November 2nd - 5th - Free Controller w/ New Xbox One Purchase
November 6th - 8th - Free Additional Game + Wireless Controller w/ Xbox One Bundle Purchase

Amazon:
November 2nd - November 5th - Receive Mad Max for Free w/ Purchase of Xbox One
November 6th - November 8th - Receive Mad Max for Free w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle

Target:
November 1st - November 5th - Free $50 Target Gift Card w/ Purchase of Xbox One
November 6th - November 7th - Free $50 Target Gift Card + Additional Game w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle (Online Only)
November 8th - Free Additional Game w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle (Online Only)

Best Buy:
November 1st - November 5th - Free $50 Best Buy Gift Card w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle
November 6th - November 7th - Free $50 Best Buy Gift Card + Additional Game w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle
November 8th - Free Game w/ Purchase of Xbox One Bundle

That Gamestop one for tomorrow through Sunday could be a killer deal, especially if you use it towards the Elite console and/or had a PS3 or 360 you could trade in.

Amazon also has a $50 giftcard plus free game deal that starts tomorrow.

I may finally jump in on a current generation console depending on the BF deals. Leaning more towards the XO since they seem to be throwing out the better deals.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

If they are having these kind of deals now, I'm really curious to see what some stores will offer on BF. At least with all of those stores (with the exception of Amazon), their holiday return policy is already in effect. So if you want to be on the safe side, you could always grab one now and have until January to return it if something better pops up.

The meijer bf ad is up.
PS4 and Xbox One bundles are $50 off MSRP and include a $50 coupon for your next shopping trip. Seems like the current deals are better as you don't have to deal with the crowds. Maybe Best Buy, Target or Walmart will surprise us with a better deal

OK, now I'm being dumb and thinking about that GameStop offer as well. I buzzed them, and it's actually going on now. They also have a deal that if you trade in your XB1, you get $250. So if I trade that in for the Elite system, I pay $250 for the console, extra controller, and a game (Forza 6?). Since the controller is already going for $150, you are paying $100 for a new console with a 1TB hybrid SSD. Thoughts?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

A couple of dumb questions:

1. If you trade in your current X1, is it a pain in the ass to change over to a new console? What is the process? I remember the bothersome process for the 360.

2. Does Gamestop require a controller or do they just want only the console like Best Buy does? Say you have the Forza console but want to keep the controller?

3. Is the X1 console in the Elite package any different from the other 1TB consoles?

The big thing is if you were really going to get an Elite controller, like if you were already getting one for $150 that's one thing, but I can't get past spending over $60 on a controller

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I wasn't PLANNING on getting the Elite controller, but if it comes with the system, that's a bonus :)

Really if you were breaking it down, you are getting the Elite controller ($150) an extra controller ($60) and a game ($60) for $250.

But realistically, it probably doesn't make sense for me. I already have an extra controller and I don't really need any more XB1 games now anyways. I was just trying to justify it since I paid less than $250 for my console last BF anyways. So I wouldn't be losing any money on the trade in.

Shouldn't be. I've done a full factory reset on my Xbox One, which should be identical to moving to a new console altogether. You sign in and do the initial setup, the same as ever. Once you put in a disc or re-download a game, it'll automatically sync your saved data from the cloud. Aside from the fact that installs take for-friggin'-ever, it's a breeze.

Okay. Cool.

I am thinking about trading in my kid's 500gb and giving him my Forza console since he already needs more memory. Then I might get the Elite bundle (trying to decide between it and the Halo bundle) for myself. Sell the extra controller and get a game he wants (and give it to him for x-mas). Everyone wins.

But if I lose his saves on his games, my 11 year old may try to take my life.

Why don't you just attached an external hard drive?

Then I don't have the excuse to get the Elite bundle. ;)

The elite also has a ssd hybrid drive so faster boot ups!

Technically the extra controller is replacing the one you trade in with the system.

Yeah, but you are still giving them one controller and getting two in return. I decided to hold off. I don't get enough use out of the system to justify the extra cost.

Best Buy is advertising that if you buy Fallout 4 or Rise of the TR, you can also get $25 off one of the selected games (GTA V, Halo 5, Forza 6, Madden 16, FIFA 16). With GCU that's getting one of those games for $28. Very nice deal. I assume it extends to Preorders as well (at least with a Manager's override)

You can also save $5 off the price of the Fallout 4 Season Pass with Fallout 4 purchase. That discount is already figured into the price of the Gold Edition.

It looks like some Target locations have the Netgear Nighthawk X6 (reg. $270) on clearance for 70% off making it $81. I'm using a cheap router now, so I might grab one at lunch since one store near me says they have a couple at that price. DPCI: 056-02-0127.
