I think that ended 11/2. :( Well, will wait for Black Friday.

Went into one BB store. They had no phones and wouldn't even take my video game trade (city wouldn't give them pawn shop license). Went to the one by my house. They have the Samsung Gusto 3 for Verizon listed $14.99. Take it to CSR, rings up $24.99. I pull the tag and she adjusts it, saying they must've missed some tags. Got the GCU added without any issues. Just checked online and mine is already added, so I'm good through 2020.

I paid $60 for the first (which I maintain is still a good deal), $30 for the next 2 years last week w/ Sunset Overdrive and now $15 for this. $17.50 average price per year. I'm happy with that price, because it pays for itself with one preorder.

Also, for those with the cell phones. If you aren't going to use it, please donate it a DV shelter/charity in your area. Verizon even has an online thing where they won't give you money for it, but they will send you a mailer and you can ship to them for free, so they can donate it. This is one of the most important things that DV victims need, so any donations are usually greatly appreciated.

So, if others are getting their memberships extended nearly right away then I wonder what the hold up is with mine.

Just wondering, how old a cell phone can you donate? The reason I ask is because I had to switch mines out a few times bec my cell at the time wasn't compatible with the new towers being installed. Will they be able to get use out of any phone?

I am pretty sure if it works on a network, they will take it. 3G hasn't been phased out yet, so any basic phone or smartphone should be acceptable.

Bought a phone that was $25 but had a sign up for $20, got the price adjusted, 2 years added on that showed up on the website within an hour. Also used the coupon from trading in CoD Ghosts, got AW for $40 with $10 in rewards coming (GCU 20% off took off post coupon price).

Grabbed the H20 sim kit for $10 and got the GCU for free. The sign said the kit was 5 bucks, but I wasn't going to haggle.

The mobile rep was annoyed with me at first because it wasn't working and he said I had to get a phone and plan et al. Once he realized that he had to put in my RZ card first, he became apologetic and was quick to help out.

The video game guy was super annoyed with me though when I went back to get a 2nd GCU card. But I added 4 years for $20!

I'll probably go back tomorrow and grab one of those sim kits to get another 2 years for $10... At that price, why not?

I got a mystery RZ cert in my email today. It was only for 5 bucks, which I figured it would be, but I used it to pick up one of the h2o SIM kits and the GCU membership for 5.39 out the door. Score!

I just want to state that I hate you Americans and your damn GCU deals. Canadian Best Buy has NOTHING in this area (that I'm aware of). Damn you all and you're sub-$70 AAA games.

Sub $50 and Sub $40 AAA games... :D

Thx, got the same deal as well. Cashier was skeptical at first but rang up the order and sure enough worked out.

On the plus side, Target Canada is doing a B2G1 deal starting Friday. I'm tempted...

Mine looks a little different from this (it has a picture of a phone in the middle), but this should give you a basic idea what to look for. It was right by the pre-paid phones:

I also picked up the h2o sim starter kit for $9.99, but it didn't add time to GCU yet. Does it take a little bit? Did I need to do anything else other than give them my reward card info when they rung it up?

Did they also scan the GCU card with your order? They have to do that. It should come up as free.

Haha, nope. Even after the guy said he knew why I was buying that. So where do I pick one of those up? Counter or back in the games section?

I went to look for them in the games section and couldn't find them. I ended up going up to the cell phone area and asking the guy if he knew about the promotion for the free GCU. He didn't, but was willing to try it, so I grabbed the SIM card and he sent someone to grab a GCU card for me.

I tried a random $5.99 SIM card - no go on the deal. Then tried that H2O SIM kit and sure enough it worked. II'm good until 2020 now. I hope Best Buy is. Thanks

actually I may even be able to use that SIM card if I travel internationally.

I don't know if there are different ones, but the one I grabbed says "for use in the U.S. only"
