MLB 15 The Show is $19.99 and MLB 15: The Show 10th Anniversary Edition is $29.99 over at BestBuy.com. I guess it's a GCU discount that is showing after you add it to the cart.

Dark Souls II for PS4 and XBox One is $40 at Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...f_rd_i=desktop

I am tempted to buy it but I am really holding out for another Witcher III sale.

FYI, they're matching Best Buy, so for those with GCU, it's $32 there.

WTH? Gears Ultimate Edition is no longer eligible for a $10 gift card at Best Buy or am I seeing things? If so, that sucks.

You are not wrong.

Gears of War was mistakenly placed on this page and has been removed. I apologize for the confusion. Fallout 4 is part of this promotion and we hope to have it added to this page in the near future.

We appreciate all of your feedback and are working hard to keep this information current and up-to-date.

Amazon has Fantasia: Music Evolved for the Xbox One down to $14.99, which is an all-time low.

Don't know if this is a new deal or not, but I saw a thread over on SD mentioning Dell is offering a $15 e-giftcard with game pre-orders(namely Rare Replay). Not sure if it is just select games or not, but I know it is available for Rare Replay and at least one other XO title as I did not check any other games.

You must be a Dell Advantage member to receive the giftcard(free to join).

Prime Day is on Wednesday, not tomorrow.

FWIW, Walmart is launching a competing event this week as well, and Best Buy has one scheduled for 7/24 - 7/25. Between all of 'em, hopefully there'll be some pretty phenomenal deals.

I love the quote in that article

"We just don't believe you should pay a fee to get a better price," said Walmart spokesperson Ravi Jariwala.

Unless, it is to Sam's Club...

If you are gamers unlocked (and why shouldn't you be?), then the Best Buy sale has some real potential.

Yep. You're right.

I'm not gamers unlocked, and I have no love for Best Buy. But I have very little love for Amazon either other than Prime shipping, which is why I tend to get my games there. Does GU offer better discounts or just "rewards"? (Serious question, as I am once again buying--and playing--newer games since I got my current-gen console. I think Uncharted 3 was my last release-day purchase.)

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Much better discounts. 20% off ALL new games, including those already on sale or clearance, and can combine with the many available $10 Reward Zone credits on pre-orders (but does not combine with price-matching other store's sales). There is NO WAY you don't make your $30/2 yr back unless you never buy video games or live outside the United States.

mattysemo247 07-13-15 12:05 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Just discounts. It's 20% off any new games, 10% off pre-owned, and an additional 10% towards trade ins.

I was in that boat until a couple months ago. GCU is absolutely worth it, and I feel pretty foolish for not diving in earlier. For instance, I picked up Arkham Knight on day one for $48 and got $10 worth of rewards certificates. Ditto for Witcher III. It's not just brand new releases either. Even when a game is on clearance for, say, $15, it's down to $12 with GCU. If you pay with a Best Buy credit card, you get more points towards additional rewards certificates too. You get a stack of pretty decent coupons on day one as well. I remember using the 50% off a strategy guide for Witcher III, the regular 20% off stacked on top of that, plus it was on sale! MSRP of $39.99, paid $14.99 + tax.

It's $30 for a two year membership, and I broke even basically after one game.

maxfisher 07-13-15 12:47 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, GCU is a must for anyone who buys new games. With Arkham Knight as an example, I got $12 off day one (in addition to the $10 reward cert anyone can get) and got an extra $3.70 in trade value when I traded it back in today. With one game, I'm up $0.70 for the year on my membership cost. I'm currently signed up through 2018 with the full expectation that either the program or Best Buy will have bit it since then, but it's still well worth it.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

It's also 20% off of DI and skylanders sets/figures. I assume that Lego Dimension sets/figures will be 20% off when it is released.

davidh777 07-13-15 01:16 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Thanks, all. I don't buy a ton of release-day games, but it sounds like just a few would be worth it, and I do buy price drops so that's even more reason. If nothing else, it looks like it'd remove the stigma from paying $60 and having to wait for the $30 price point. It would be cool to play stuff like Arkham and The Witcher 3 when everyone else is.

I'll look into it.

pinata242 07-13-15 01:36 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Even waiting for a $30 price point, that becomes $24. 5 of those in 2 years and you break even.
