Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I've got a question if anyone can help out. We're playing Earth Defense Force Armaggedon and saw that Earth Defense Force 2025 is on sle on mazon for $11.00. However it has M-rating with the Blood. Cn the Blood/gore be turned off...I saw something where someone thought you could change the color?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Target is running a deal this week on all their gaming cards. Buy one, get one for 25% off.
Today I bought a pair of $50 cards for the Playstation Store. Combined with my Red Card 5% discount, I got the cards for $83.12 |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Microsoft Store has the Xbox One w/ Madden + $60 Game (including Destiny) + $50 Xbox Gift Card going on for $399, plus if you have a 360 or PS3, they're worth $100 credit.
|
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
That's a crazy deal if you have any interest in Madden.
Edit: Hell, even if you don't, that's basically a Destiny bundle for $350! |

"Sorry about that. One or more of the items in this bundle are no longer available." |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Apparently works in stores as well, and NewEgg had a similar deal.
|
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
The standard One appears to work with that deal, just without the Madden download code.
Several games are currently out-of-stock, though, so they can't apply to the freebie promo right now: Diablo 3, Tomb Raider, Metro: Redux, Battlefield 4, and Killer Instinct. |

Give me a XB1 + Forza Horizons 2 & The Master Chief Collection for $399 and I'm in

Nice little eBay daily deal
XB1 w/ Kinect & Forza 5 + Destiny + XBL 12 month sub for $499 |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Having flashbacks to the Gamecube/Dreamcast era.
I think when I bought my Gamecube, it came with a Mario, Wave Race and something like 4 Zeldas. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
What do you guys think the break even point is on the Best Buy Gamers Club? Or how many new games per year do you think a person would have to buy to make it worthwhile?
I only buy one or two new games per year, so I've always thought it would be a wash at best for me. What am I missing? |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
It's a nice deal, but not at $120/2yrs. They've already had two $60/2yr deals and will probably have another. I can't imagine you not breaking even with that, assuming there's a Best Buy close enough to you.
Those who are picking up an XO this week should probably get it at Best Buy. Stacking GCU with the free $60 game and Madden bundle makes for quite the deal -- better than the $50 GC the Microsoft Store is offering. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I love Best Buy's GCU. And yes, as Decker said, wait for a deal. I got mine during the last $60/2yr sale. I think you would have to buy 5 games at $59.99 to break even. That is over a 2 year period and is around the # I usually buy anyway. It's even better if you buy limited/collector's editions. For example, I am getting the Destiny LE for $79.99 ($20 savings). You also get an extra 10% in trade value and 10% off of pre-owned games if you are in to that. Finally, if you preorder certain games, you will get reward $ back. Here is the list of current games Best Buy $10 Bonus.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Yeah, the GCU deal is great. I signed up for 2yr/$60 too. The only bummer for me is their Vita selection. So, I usually buy those on Amazon.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I'll keep an eye out for a 2/$60 deal, but knowing I'd have to buy that many new games makes it unlikely for me.
In most cases, I'd prefer to just wait a few months for the games I want. And honestly, playing PS+ games is taking up so much of my gaming time, I'd probably just end up with a bunch of unplayed retail games in shrink wrap. But for people who buy a lot of games, that seems like a great program. Thanks fellas. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Every GCU game I've bought this year has come with an additional $10 gift cert. Wolfenstein came with $20. The $60 fee paid for itself after 3-4 purchases and I'm paying $38 or less for day one releases.
|
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I made money by buying Wolfenstein at release, playing it for a few months and selling it back to Best Buy two weeks ago for $27.

I bought Wolfenstein after release when it was on sale for $39. Paid $34 with tax and traded it in for $27. Net cost = $7 to play a frickin' awesome game. Seriously, this game was kick ass and one of the best of 2014. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I paid $30 for two years through their email offer and think it's great. I'll probably end up renewing once my subscription is up if they offer another deal. I would even pay $60 if it's offered at that time.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Figured I'd throw this in here since there are sure to be deals on what I'm looking for...only game I've played in the last 2-3 years is GTA last year (I think maybe Skyrim was the last I played before that). Now that another fall and probably miserable WI winter is upon me, I'd kinda like to try a few of the best games that have come out since I've been "gone." Have PS3, 360, and Wii.
Really just looking for a great single player experience. And while I did love things like Oblivion, Fallout, GTA, I really don't have the time to get sucked into those types of games anymore. Suggest some if they've come out, I can always attempt to take my time with them, I just usually have no will power to walk away. Suggestions? Thanks. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Great single player experience without a major time sink.
Try = Bioshock series, Wolfenstein, Last of Us (PS3), Darksiders 1 & 2, Batman Arkham series, Dishonored, Unchartered series. Should be able to find some sort of deals on any of those. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
If you haven't played Just Cause 2, you're really missing out.
