$10 (or $7.80) is still an expensive rental...

When I saw it on SD earlier someone mentioned a GCU 30% trade in bonus* going on right now, so you be closer to breaking even depending on how quickly you blow through it.

*don't quote me on that

It started Sunday and was in their ad.

Of course, I traded in a bunch of games on Saturday...

Ouch, I didn't realize it dropped that low that fast. On second thought, you might want to wait then.

Or even better, clear your weekend calender, stop by a Redbox and beat it in a couple of long extended gaming sessions. Game could easily be beaten in a $4 weekend rental.

Are games still $2/day for you? They went up to $3/day here.

Best Buy has the Disney Infinity 2.0 Toy Box starter sets for $24.99 and the regular starter sets for $39.99. I know the regular sets have been this price or cheaper in the past, but I'm not sure about the Toy Box sets so I thought I would mention it in case someone is interested.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpa...s=keys&seeAll=

They also have the Infinity figures on sale for $9.99 again this week. Just in time to pick up the Loki and Falcon figures that release this week. Especially if you have GCU.

The last two power discs (Ultimate Falcon Costume and Captain Marvel Team-Up) also release this week. It comes in a pack with just the two discs and is labeled as such, so you know what you're getting. Gamestop also has a deal this Saturday where if you spend 10 bucks on Disney Infinity stuff, you get it for free.

They also have the following sales going on, during this event. I'm thinking of picking up either a playset or 4 2.0 power disc packs and getting the rare set for free:

Disney Infinity 2.0 Collector’s Edition for $89.99
Disney Infinity 1.0 figures for $7.99
Disney Infinity 2.0 figures for $12.99
Disney Infinity Play Sets for $19.99
Disney Infinity Power Disc Packs for $2.99 (excludes the new rare power disc pack)

I'll probably grab Battlefield for that price. How's the single player? I never play MP.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The single player is fun. And Hotwire MP is great (coming from someone who also never plays MP).

Must not be selling well. That is what we are using now on price drops so soon after a game is released, right?

Adam Tyner 03-23-15 01:45 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I have no idea if The Order is selling well (it came out so late last month that NPD doesn't really give a clear indication), but Amazon is just pricematching Best Buy in this case. (We'll see if the sale lasts beyond Best Buy's.)

Best Buy can get pretty aggressive about pricing, as seen with the $40 Battlefield: Hardline next week, a sale that looks to have already been lined up before the game even came out.

Or it could be that it sold like hot cakes and they have already reached a certain threshold and can move more units at a lower price. I guess we could use the same analogy that when a hit movie released for 20 bucks one week and a week or two later it is 15 bucks that the movie must not have sold well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The Order sold at least 300K in the US alone, in February alone, not including digital. And it charted in the NPD top 10, when many recent retail exclusives haven't (not naming names). I'm not saying it earned great sales or that it's a great game or even that it met sales expectations, but them's the facts.

Selling well or not, that's a sign to me that their next effort is not worth an early/launch investment.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Odds are it started off strong and fell quickly... or this could just be an Ubisoft situation where all their games hit $39 after a month.

so i'm the troll when you claimed the exact same thing about Titanfall when it dropped in price a few months after release? right. i'm simply pointing out your very obvious hypocrisy.
