Those prices look tempting.

But of course this sale is before Microsoft announces the new Xbox, and if it's going to have backwards compatibility.

Here is my question, and maybe I'm just stupid (I've been called worse)...who cares if Microsoft announces the next Xbox in relation to these sales? (Even if backwards compatibility is sketchy) You can still keep your 360 and if the original Xbox is any indication, they are not turning off any lights for at least a few years. While I certainly don't think its forever, its not going to be gone in 6 months either. True, I am harboring so to speak all the discs I can right now, especially if it includes DLC, but I still buy DLC if it interests me and the price is right.

I think a lot of people care if their XBL and PSN downloads carry over or not. I would ditch my current gen systems to save space and help fund the purchase of the next gen systems. I'm also running out of HDMI inputs on my receiver.

If I enter the code of a new 1 yr sub will it add it onto my current sub or will it override it to just 12 months from the day I input the code?

My sub runs out some time in may should I wait til it running out?

It adds time, although at least once when I ran out, they offered me three months for a dollar a month.

I ordered one, but I have until Jan 2015 already and should probably see what Xbox has in store going forward before giving them any more money.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Oh and for those who don't check the PSN thread :
There are two promotions going on that overlap each other :
From now until 3/4, if you buy a year of Playstation Plus, you'll get three bonus months free.

Also, from now through the end of March, you'll get $10 back in April for every $50 you spend out of your PSN wallet.

Putting the two together, you can get 15 months of PS Plus for essentially $40 after rebate if you buy it by 3/4. That's a great deal.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

FUCK! These deals on XBL service really piss me off! It just proves the MSRP on it is complete bullshit because it doesn't offer a tangible thing.

Where are the 33-40% off deals on MSP? Every fucking week you can get XBL for cheap, but never on their other 25-character codes.

It's not just annoying but it cheapens the argument that XBL should cost anything if it's always on sale.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

And if it was XBL, you would have been able to for the next 12 weeks. But that's not really the point. Like I said, it really hurts the argument that XBL is better because of the subscription fee. It's completely arbitrary at $60 MSRP.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I mean, everyone jumps on these $35-$40 deals like they have no other opportunity. Most of us are already sitting on 2-3 years of service anyway and I have at least one card on standby.

Would be doing that if the MSRP was $40 and there were very infrequent sales?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I don't know why other companies put XBL on sale... it is not on sale from MS themselves right?

I don't get the issue and don't care to question a good thing... so shut yo yap!

I have the family plan so I never get in on these deals. I'm only paying $25 a year per sub on that plan.

Is RE4 worth $10 on the 360? Heard great things about the Wii version, but don't know much about any of the other versions. Thanks.

I've never been able to get into a GTA game either, but Red Dead is a masterpiece and easily one of the top 5 games this generation.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I enjoyed the GTA games on a non-mission based level; as a sandbox I thought they were fun, as a story, they were a chore. RDR is much more compelling as a game. Very enjoyable and satisfying.

Yes. I bought it when it was first released for $20 and don't regret it at all.
