Typically no. A price match is considered a special offer therefore you can't combine their offer and a PM. It's one or the other.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, they'll give you a $20 if you bring in the TRU ad, but otherwise you'd get a $10 one.

Don't forget about the Sgt Johnson preorder code. You can pick one up with a $5 deposit and get a refund on that deposit with the receipt only (while keeping the box and code). It's what I did in anticipation of the TRU deal. If I end up with a code from TRU as well, I'll either give one to my friend or ebay it, since those bonuses sometimes go for good prices. Either way, the preorder boxes (which are in great abundance at every BB I visit) will likely be gone by 9/22.

Is the Sgt. Johnson pre-order code at BB? I thought it was at Gamestop.

It's a general promotion valid anywhere you pre-order.

I was able to get Best Buy to pricematch the TRU ad ($20 GC) but they wouldn't give me the $10 GC too, i figured they wouldn't after reading the previous replies but i had to try.

Seriously, I'm sure there are thousands of copies of this game combo in every Gamestop in America. That's what happens when you bundle a not-very popular kid's game in with a popular gaming console during the holiday season. Ebay is swimming in copies.

According to this week's Toys R Us ad, if you buy the GH5 guitar bundle for $99, you get the GH:WT bundle for free. And then of course you get GH:VH free by mail. So three games and two guitars for $99.

Seems to be for the Wii version only. No mention of the deal working for the 360 or PS3 versions.

Remember that GH:VH deal is only good during September, meaning you'd have to buy it by Wednesday.

I read that was just for the Wii, but I haven't seen the ad myself so I can't say for certain.

I can vouch for Kung Fu Panda being a really fun (and challenging at times) game. I'm not usually into games for kids or crappy movie spin-off games, but this one is neither of those. I only got it because it came bundled with Lego Indiana Jones which I picked up during the used sale at Gamestop, and I played it through 3 times and enjoyed every minute. I still haven't made it more than a third of the way through Lego IJ because it wasn't nearly as much fun as KFP.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Any idea on the timeframe of the next TRUS B2G1Free deal? If I remember correctly it seems they offer it sometime in the fall. The middle of October would be perfect to pickup:
Borderlands
Brutal Legend
Demon's Souls

I am hoping for a b2g1 as well. I miss Circuit City and their clearances. They always had stuff on clearance.

It's early-to-mid October. Two years ago, I remember it was the week after Orange Box dropped and that was my "keeper" of the three I bought. That game was released 10/9/07, so it must have been that next week.

Last year, I had to come back and swap one of my "trader" games for Fable 2, which was released 10/21/08, so it was before that.

Right, early October usually right before all the Xmas titles come out. Of course, those are all meaninglessly delayed until next year.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

If it is mid October then it will be perfect for those three titles. They come out on the
6th, 13th and the 20th of October.

Do we know if BB will price match the B2G1 free deal? They are pretty good about price matching gift cards.

Which one are you going to so I don't risk running into you we don't use up all the limited stock?

Assuming the deal even happens which is likely not since the DS one didn't happen in the summer and the free GC deals are all the rage.

In my experience Best Buy wouldn't match but Circuit City (RIP) would.
