Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'm out of codes. I went for two games that were already discounted $3 each and left the full price titles. Like you I've pre-ordered pretty much everything I know I want at this point.

Amazon:
Fallout 3 - $48
Lego Rock Band - $39
Super Mario Wii - $39
Dead Rising 2 - $48
Halo Reach - $48

my Best Buy (B1G1 50% off)order still rides believe it or not(knock on wood):
Bioshock 2 - $47.50
Split/Second - $47.50

The only other major release I want is Crackdown 2 and who knows when that is due out.

Dell has the 12+1 xbox live cards for $29.99. Buy two of them and shipping is free.

Also, how are you guys getting these codes to stack? It will accept my first one, but not a second.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

they've been disabled because people kept abusing it. In fact ECA stopped giving out codes temporarily

I was able to get a new code yesterday. I canceled a few orders I'd placed with the old ECA codes. Put all the old items back in my cart, added some new ones, entered the new code. A code from an old order stayed in my account and when I entered the new code, they stacked, both taking 10% off the top.

The kicker here is that when I put Dead Space in my cart yesterday and debated placing that order for $20, I noticed that there were still two old codes stacking in my cart (no idea how or why). So today, I used those stacking codes along with a newly arrived $10 pre-order credit to order those Wii games.

Actually that little trick just worked for me. I only placed one order though. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition for $63.99, plus it comes with the $10 off a future video game purchase coupon. Thanks for the tip.

I have Halo Reach in my GOLDBOX today, but without my 10% ECA, I will pass. I'm still waiting for CODMW2 to hit the Goldbox, but it has yet to happen.

I burned all mine off while they were stacking. Supposedly ECA codes are set to return today or Monday.

If i already have Fallout 3, would GOTY at this price for all the expansions be a better value then buying the DLC?

There are 5 DLC expansions at $10 a pop, or $50. $40 < $50.

Of course all this depends on whether or not you pay full price for your points.

You'd also have to factor in the physical value of the disk you already own and subtract that from $40. My guess is $25 or so.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I haven't tried it yet, but I assume it's like the Mass Effect uber-edition that requires you to install the dlc to the hdd from the 2nd disc. If so you could share with other people. Like I could mail you my disc if you mail it back, cover shipping, and maybe a 5 or 10 spot

I need to confirm that first.
