Deleted that shit game after the server was constantly down for the first week or so, and then the finale was my city being deleted. Fuck them.

Looks like that Simpsons game has been removed from the app store. Not a great start.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

With ipad fever happening today, maybe it's time for an updated list of the must have apps/games?

I think I'm going to start out with Cut the Rope: Experiments
I really liked Where's my Water as well, but I don't think I can start all over on that one

Some games that I think are good that I know are universal or have ipad versions:

NBA Jam
Plants Vs. Zombies
Peggle
Lego Harry Potter
Monkey Island Tales (or practically any Telltale Game)
Lux DLX 2 (risk clone that is much better than the offcial Risk game)
Super Mega Worm
UniWar HD
Mirror's Edge
Zen Pinball
Jetpack Joyride
Puzzle Agent HD
Civilization Revolution HD
Max and the Magic Marker
Sonic & SEGA All-Stars
Puzzle Quest 2
Super Crossfire HD
METAL GEAR SOLID TOUCH
Let's Golf
Drop7
Geometry Wars Touch

So far, my favorite game has been Where's My Water?. Just a pitch-perfect combination of correct difficulty and gameplay that you can enjoy while waiting for the bus or on an extended 20+ minute session.

Yeah, I stopped playing Simpsons after about ten days. It's my official last attempt at any of these stupid town/tower games.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Popcap finally released a version of Zuma's Revenge ($2 for iphone, $5 for iPad) on iOS devices*, and it is fantastic. No more downloading half baked marble shooter clones. Seems like a lot of content for that $2 as well. I've done around 40 something levels over the past few days and still have a ways to go. In other words, no need to wait for that $.99 cent price point, it's well worth the extra buck.

*I'm on 4s and it works great, even on the small screen.

I picked up Zuma's Revenge and it is really good. I just wish it had the facebook game integrated into it.

I'm having a lot of fun with Scribblenauts & Cocoa Loco.
Pizza vs. Skeletons is kinda fun too ... weird though!

Are any of you playing Draw Something? If so send me an invite to RockySC. I can't get enough of this game.

My son (age 7) loves this game and has beaten every level. My daughter (age 4) tries to play it and gets frustrated past the first 10 or so levels. I think it is great and a perfect example of the types of creative experiences that touch screen gaming can enable.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Just ordered an IPOD touch from Amazon. What are some games you guys would recommend? I'm into puzzle games like Tetris and platformers and rpgs. Any hidden gems? Also stupid question; How do you buy games on it? Can i get a points card like xbox live or will i need to put in my credit card?

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Puzzle games:

Peggle
Drop 7
Bejeweled
Bookworm
Where's My Water
Angry Birds
Cut the Rope
Montezuma
Super 7
Critter Crunch
Zuma's Revenge
Luxor
7 little words

Those are the ones I keep on my phone. I'm sure I have a ton more backed up.

You can buy iTunes gift cards or use a credit card. You can buy in iTunes on your PC or on the iPod.

Like several others, I'm also addicted to Tiny Tower.

Also, if you're a fan of the old school Eye of the Beholder games (late 80s RPGs), check out Undercroft. It's free!

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Is there a way to use the internet from my desktop pc as a wifi hotspot on the ipod touch? All i have is wired and i read somewhere you can get a wired desktop to gain access to ipod touchs wi-fi. Any truth to that?

Draw Something is pretty great. Not sure how well it plays on a smaller device, but half of the fun is how horrible you draw something yet the other person still figures it out.

You need an USB wifi adapter for your desktop. Then establish and ad-hoc connection between your desktop and iPod.

The Creeps and Plants vs Zombies are good tower defense games if you like that kind of thing

You can get a wireless N router these days for like $29. You'd probably spend more on an adaptor. Do you really want to be boubd to a wired modem for a mobile device like an ipod touch?

Atari Classics in-game full purchase of 99 Arcade and 2600 games with iCade support is on a 50% off sale for $4.99. I got it finally even though I'll probably never play any. Gotta justify my iCade besides Super Crossfire HD somehow!

Pretty sure the Atari app has always worked with it. You sure you aren't thinking about the Midway arcade?
