Couldn't disagree more. I play it damn near daily. I use the twin thumbstick layout and have few issues with it. You don't have to take your thumb off the digital controller, much like an analog stick. You just slide it back and forth and it controls quite nice. It's not 100% perfect, I still miss a turn every once in a while when Pac really gets flying but it's not detrimental.

It works well enough to get Gold rankings in all the Championship mode levels and I'm about 1/3 of the way through the 120 Missions, all with Gold. The Challenges are much more difficult. I've only managed Silver/Blue on all of those.

Oh, BTW The Creeps is free today and it's apparently a very good tower defense game.

If you don't have this game already, get it now (that is if you have even a passing interest in TD games). It is great!

Yep, The Creeps is a must own for $5, let alone free. I've played about 40 different TD games, and The Creeps has grown on me to become my most played of that genre.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

For buyers of apps : a rare sale on Itunes Store credit. At Best Buy, they are selling 3 X $10 card packs for $25, no tax. Free shipping if you buy online. Pretty good deal.

There's also a sale this week on Costco, but I don't know if they charge tax, which would negate some of the savings.

No retailer should charge tax on the cards since each purchase via the app store is already taxed.

I agree, but I asked at Costco and was told that they "probably" do charge tax on the item. For years, Best Buy charged tax on 1600 point cards; I assume it's something they have to set up their system to make tax-exempt. In any case, it's almost the same deal at Best Buy, so I bought mine there.

FYI, The Simpsons Arcade game is $.99. EA has a bunch of games on sale. I don't know for how long or which ones, I just got notices on the ones in my wish list at appshopper.

I think 20 EA games are on sale. The sale runs until Monday. The EA website says "Save up to 80%", but only The Simpsons is discounted that much. Their big board games like Scrabble and Monopoly are discounted from $4.99 to $2.99, Spore Creatures dropped from $6.99 to $1.99, Dragon's Lair dropped from $4.99 to $2.99 and many $1.99 games dropped to 99 cents. Here's the full list:

American Idol: The Game ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Anytime Pool($1.99 -> 99¢)
BATTLESHIP ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Boggle ($1.99 -> 99¢)
CLUE ($1.99 -> 99¢)
CONNECT 4 ($2.99 -> $1.99)
Dragon’s Lair ($4.99 -> $2.99)
THE GAME OF LIFE Classic Edition ($2.99 -> $1.99)
Lemonade Tycoon ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Littlest Pet Shop ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Madden 10 ($6.99 -> $4.99)
Mass Effect Galaxy ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Monopoly ($4.99 -> $2.99)
Mystery Mania ($1.99 -> 99¢)
NBA Live ($6.99 -> $4.99)
SCRABBLE ($4.99 -> $2.99)
The Simpsons Arcade ($4.99 -> 99¢)
SNOOD ($2.99 -> 99¢)
Spore™ Creatures ($6.99 -> $1.99)
Spore™ Origins ($1.99 -> 99¢)
STAR TREK ($1.99 -> 99¢)
Trivial Pursuit ($4.99 -> $2.99)
Wolfenstein RPG ($1.99 -> 99¢)
YAHTZEE™ Adventures ($2.99 -> $1.99)
Zombies & Me ($1.99 -> 99¢)

I picked up The Simpsons. For that price, it's totally worth it. It's simplistic and repetitive, but it's fun in small doses and looks great.
Any suggestions for other games off that list? I thought about Spore Creatures, but the reviews aren't great. Also Monopoly is a possibility.

Slow ponderous games of Monopoly against AI opponents who always seemed to roll better than you weren't much fun when I played it.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Boggle, Scrabble & Yahtzee are all winners on the iPhone, IMO. I recommend all 3.

Also, this is more than likely ThinkGeek's April Fool's Joke, but how awesome would this be?

*edit - if you add it to your cart it alerts you to it being a joke.

If that is indeed a "joke", someone needs to invent that, STAT. That is really a cool item.

I have the above and like them all (especially for the $8 total price). Spore Origins is fun is small doses, Lemonade Tycoon is the same that you might remember from elementry school (that is, if you played Oragon Trail as well). Scrabble is very fun with another person via Wi-Fi (not so much with yourself). Wolfenstein RPG is very good and a no-brainer at $.99. Yahtzee is another one you should already have a feel for if you will like it or not.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I went and picked up 2 of the iTunes gift card packs at Costco and wasn't charged tax. It was too good of a deal to turn down, especially with my iPad coming Saturday.

I did like this product specification:

Do we know yet if we have to re-buy all of our apps to use on an iPad? Or can you synch your iPhone apps to the iPad?

I'm pretty certain that all your iphone/touch games will work and don't need to be re-bought. The new ipad games are considerably more expensive, though.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Not a game, but Wolfram Alpha has dropped by 94% - From $49.99 to $1.99 and rocketed to #1 Pay App. It's an incredibly useful app, a "computational knowledge engine" that gives you instant answers to many factual matters and does complicated math and chemistry problems as well. I'd never pay anything close to $50 for it, but for $2, it's certainly worth having.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

Reviews quite spotty. Seems like most of it can be topekad pretty easily.
