Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

He just listens to people who can't play worth a damn, they do the bulk of the complaining.

It's all "laggers! glitchers! They have no life!" and the like when people can't play well. No doubt some of those things aren't all that cool, but they don't ruin any experience online. COD MW2 is so much fun online it's ridiculous... unless you suck at playing and then it's a miserable experience I guess.

I suck, but I still love it. My kill death ratio remains steady at .50, but I can't get enough of it.

Set you mic so only friends are heard, help to keep your sanity. And when you have cheaters/glitchers in a game just leave the game and leave them negative feedback so you don't get matched with them again. The system works but most people just don't use what they have available.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

I love all the complaining about cheaters, glitches, etc.... yet I played for the longest time yesterday (wich was a saturday) and out of all the games I played....I didn't run into one glitch or cheat.

Not saying nobody has and I'm not calling anyone out - just saying that it hasn't happened to me - I've been racking points up like crazy and I'm actually starting to enjoy playing hardcore the most out of all game types.

But with all that said....I'm only a level 32 and I'm starting to get really sick of playing as well. The game needs to evolve...into what I have no idea. I mean, I love the refining they did but I think I'm just finally getting sick of the same thing over, and over, and over again.

Have you tried some of the other modes? There are some pretty good ones that shake things up as you get higher in level.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Ran into a couple guys hiding in a quiet area of Wasteland, one guy killing the other over and over. Weak.
It seems like anyone with a rank above 60 is using those dual shotguns.

I've refined my strategy a bit. Using equipment (C4 explosives, grenades, etc.) in the right spots really helps. I've also finally strayed away from the perk that lets you run forever. While it was very helpful at a lower rank, I find it more fun to use the heartbeat monitor to sneak up on guys and knife them.

Now I just need to unlock more killstreaks.

Yeah I'm already getting bored with the maps for some reason. They look much nicer than the ones in COD4 but for some reason they don't offer as many different play options. I used to have different classes for each type of map but in this game I pretty much just use the same load-out on all of them.

It sucks that "killstreak rewards" are so few and far between. By that I mean you have to be at level 45 to unlock your 6th killstreak reward... and I think there are 15 total.

Have any of you guys who have only one loadout or are tired of the maps played Team Hardcore?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

I mostly play Domination and find the variety of maps to be pretty good -- at least much, much better than FFA. I imagine there will be a couple of maps coming our way soon for d/l... but that's speculation.

I don't have an addictive personality at all... but this game is ridiculous. I literally find pockets of 15 minutes at a time to fire up my Xbox and kick out a couple of MP games. Infinity Ward has done an outstanding job.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Anyone know if the update a couple of days ago addressed the javelin glitch?

How many maps were released for the previous iteration?

As I start to mix up my classes, I find myself using different tactics for each map depending on which class I use. That being said, more maps would be nice (some are just too big when you get in a 4 v 4 match).

Having tons of people on your buddy list that plays mw2 comes in handy, aside from being able to play a private match, you can coordinate an attack. I've played against jav glitchers a bunch of times, most of the time, we demolish them, and just laugh our assess off.

It's hilarious when they start running after people, and we place several snipers away from the targets. Boom! Boom! Then they leave, then we neg review.

Yes and it actually gives the game a completely different feel. Everyone is a hell of a lot more careful and it's really cool to see everyone watching each others back.

Just a little too late for me I guess but I am going to try and get into capture the flag later tonight.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

I played HQ against a Javelin glitcher today and even with that cheat his team never won and he was middle of the pack for scores. What's the point of cheating and risking bannination if you can't even pull off the cheat properly?

And I love the level of abuse I get when I'm trying to level up the noob tube on my rifles to unlock the shotgun attachment. My mission is to fully unlock all the weapons attachments for all the guns since I don't plan to go into Prestige mode on this one.

I usually apologize in advance. "Sorry, but I'm noob tubing to rank up this stupid FAMAS."

I think that's one of the more ridiculous complaints. If you can't avoid a noob tube, then maybe you should look at your own playstyle.

n00b tube is a grenade attachment for assault rifles.

I don't see the hate for campers I really don't. It's a valid strategy. It's not a good one but if that is how they want to play then why not? If you get killed by a camper just go right up to them and then kill them. I sometimes get suckered into hiding in one spot but then I can really only get 2 maybe 3 kills until I've overstayed my welcome and someone kills me.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Noob tube is hitting people with the grenade launcher. It's a fun way to die because if done well, they can come out of nowhere.

I love love love using C4 in Domination.

"Charlie is under attack!"
*click*
*giant +100 comes up on screen while I'm defending Bravo*

In most Domination games, you're best off trying to control B and whichever flag is closer, A or C. Let the other team have what you don't want and send a fast scout in there every so often so they still waste guys protecting it or trying to get it back. Even when my team is quiet I'm barking out orders and we usually do pretty well. I played a few games with SomethingMore and I believe we didn't lose a single one.

A Hardcore Domination would be really interesting.

Like I've said before, where is there a perfect camping spot in this game? Any spot you're in is indefensible unless you've got at least 1 or 2 other guys with you. Or, the spot is defensible but you only get a small view of the map. If it's really getting bad, switch to a class that has grenades and lob them into whatever area they are hiding in.

BTW, my preferred class is now Akimbo Rangers + Sniper, C4 + some type of grenade (I never use), Marathon + Lightweight + Combat. It's perfect for Domination because I can usually get to the other team's closer area before they do. And I've got all the Perks in advanced mode, so I bunny hop over obstacles very easily and can fall down 20+ feet. It's almost almost like Halo 3.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

Just played for the first time in a week or so last night and didn't see anyone using the Javelin glitch, though I ran into quite a few people with the akimbo 1887's. Damn those suck. I did manage to win one match in which 2 or 3 of the guys were using them, but it was luck as much as anything. Also, I'd been trying to unlock the final attachment for my UMP 45, which was taking forever. It seemed like I was getting very little XP and I realized it's because the challenges come so much fewer and far between when you're on a weapon you've used a ton. Switched over to the P90 and I went from getting 3000 or so XP per FFA round back up to around 9000 per round. The next couple times I play, I think I'm going to keep my concentration on using bling and trying to beat multiple challenges per round with new guns. Seems to be a much faster way to level up.

I saw someone using a pretty good one last night. On the rooftop, there's some scaffolding hanging off the roof behind the elevators. Some dude won a round by camping there. The way he was positioned, the only approach that wasn't covered was if you could kind of lean out from the other side of the elevators and shoot him in the back. There were tons of people running around that section, though, and anyone that tried to pop him from behind got wasted by other players.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - No Russian in this thread

There's a few spots where you can attack that position. I don't know exactly where he was off the top of my head, but I believe he is at least vulnerable from inside one of the office buildings (the one w/o the giant skylight in the middle).

The dark hallway at one edge has windows on the side. Those look out on the scaffolding area behind the elevators. Failing that, he can't face two attackers who flank him coming from either side of the elevators.

I will admit camping is easier in FFA since it's not as easy to launch a coordinated attack.
