I love how near the end IW stuck in their standard defend a position while you get swarmed by hundreds of guys. I love how the estimate of transfer speed kept changing.

I consider myself an entirely average FPS player. Whenever I play in a group, I'm usually near the middle. My K/D ratio is consistently near, but under, 1. I was happy with the length of single player. I could resell the game now (or in 2 weeks) and get a lot of my money back. But I'm keeping it for the MP. The campaign on the next-to-easiest setting took me roughly 10 hours, maybe a bit less.

On 360voice, they've updated today to include yesterday's numbers. CoD : MW2 had 37,202 people playing yesterday, making it the third biggest game day they've charted, behind only the day that MS gave away Texas Hold Em (58,709 8/23/06) and the launch day of Halo 3 (38,805 9/26/07).
Actually, I'm a little surprised it didn't beat the Halo 3 number.

#s were split due to the PS3/PC versions. Add in those players, and it trounces Halo 3.

Oh, I know that. I'm just saying that two years after Halo 3, with all those other consoles sold, I'd think there would be more people playing CoD MW2 at launch on Xbox Live than played Halo 3 at launch. Both games are huge sellers and I'm certain overall MW2 will outsell Halo 3. Considering over 12,000 played it the day prior to launch, I had just expected like 40-50K to have played yesterday.

just beat it on hardened. damn that was tough. tougher than i remember veteran being on the last one. i don't think the story was as good as the last one, but the gameplay was better.

Actually, I just checked and the campaign clocked in at just over 7 hours for me.

how do you check?

Once you beat the game it tells you how much time you spent on it. It might show up before you beat it but I'm not sure.

There's also a stats screen you can check at any time which tells you the amount of time you've spent in each of the three game modes, as well as the total time played between all three.

Considering Microsoft's long and well proven track record of 'fixing' things in their favor, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it clobbered Halo but Microsoft rigged it to not appear that way.

I'm sure there was closer to 2 or 3 million playing that game yesterday, not 37k. 360voice is hardly an accurate source, since 99% of 360 owners don't sign up for that site, just the ones who care about achievements. Shit, just my store sold over 500 copies in 24 hours, multiply that by the 5000 Gamestops and you have 2.5 million already.

I have to say I don't really understand the storyline. I'm a few levels in and I quite enjoy going from desert to snow to brazil... but I have no idea what's going on.

Amen. I know I'm not very bright, but I find it absolutely impossible to follow. Especially the conversation in the heat of battle.

At least the discussion and moderation was fair and balanced.

So i see something on craigslist that I have never seen... 5+ banned 360's being sold in one day. I have never even seen one before now.. So i'm thinkin. Hmm, what has come out recently. I know MW2.. So I did some research and this is what I found.

Apparently it checks the 360's firmware and if it shows hacked firmware you are banned. People are getting banned from legit copies too. Can we say banninated? Honestly they're lucky they didn't send a kernel command or something to fry the systems of hackers

Is making fun of software pirates allowed?

The story is not coherent at all, its not only you. It feels like a bunch of different locations and situations just thrown together. Yes, this has been a big story recently. If people are being banned with legit copies they surely have played other pirated games.

It looks to me like MS is just doing crc checks of the Firmware, and if they detect it being different than theirs them you are done for. They could have done this long ago, I suppose they wanted to do it all at once to put a huge scare in the pirates. I say swat em down.

I don't even like COD games, but with the hype this has gotten I am seriously contemplating getting this game.
