DVD Talk Video Game Draft Thread

Re: DVD Talk Video Game Draft Thread
I thought I would bump this to see if there would be any interest in doing something like this again. We could open it up to all consoles like before, or just focus on more recent games (like last gen - PS3, 360, Wii). Thoughts?

Yeah, I'm a little surprised myself. It's been about 6 years since the last one, so I figured there would be new people that missed it before plus some old ones returning. I'll give it a couple more days and we'll see how it goes.
I still remember the draft from last time. Everyone sitting at their computer and trying to submit games at the same time. It was a blast.

I might be up for this I guess. Seems pretty complicated.
If we go ahead and do it,can we pick some other time? I'm ass-deep in patients at 9 AM. Maybe an afternoon or evening time instead?

I didn't do it last time, but might be interested now. Although I looked like things were just first come first serve to pick games, which I don't really care for. I know the complaint was waiting for people to make picks if everyone took turns, but i'd actually prefer a set draft order chosen randomly or something.

It's really not complicated and a lot of fun. You basically just make a list of what you think the best games are. And at the same time every weekday for two weeks, everyone tosses their pick in at once. If there is a duplicate game thrown down, whoever got theirs in there first keeps it and the other guy has to throw up a quick replacement. That happened a few times last time and it was pretty funny to watch. You just keep refreshing the screen and waiting for the clock to get your game in. After 10 days, we split everyone off into brackets and we start the voting process.
I'll go ahead and say I'm going to start a thread in the next week or so to get things started. It works best with 16 people, because of the time and craziness factor. At that time we can iron out the details.
