Call of duty WOW
so i have recently been playing the beta on the 360. I love the multiplayer as it is just like COD 4. I like the upgrades promotions etc. however one thing I hate with a passion is the "call on the dogs". I mean seriously, you could be up in a tree or on a ladder and the dogs can still get you? whatever...

I love the dogs personally as it definately affects your game play (especially if they are after you).
In my opinion, it is the only thing in World at War that lives up to (maybe even surpasses the helicopter 7 kill streak bonus) od COD 4.
Here are the things I dislike in the beta and hope that are fixed in the official release:
- voice overs (our recon plane will find them!!!)
- sound affects (sound of running for example)
- grenade launchers / noob toobs (WTF! You cannot aim them?!)
- 3 maps released so far = meh
- weakened rifle power (4 to 5 shots in non hardcore to kill someone?)

Finally got around to playing the beta last night and as soon as I got up today I went online and preordered it. I played one round and it was extremely enjoyable. This is the first time I have ignored what the single player portion of a game is about. COD4 was my habit for some time and I know this game will hold my interest even longer.

I'm hoping the campaign is enjoyable. I think I'll wait for reviews before deciding to purchase it or not. I downloaded the beta on Friday and have played it a little, but I guess I'm one of the 2% of people who doesn't really care about multiplayer games (though "horde" mode in Gears of War 2 is pretty fun).

Definitely getting it.
COD 4 is still an amazing online experience and COD 5 is exactly the same thing but with new weapons and new maps. They will be perfect compliments to each other.
Plus, BB will pricematch the TRU deal. It is a no brainer.

Yeah, can we change the thread title to WAW (typos of game titles are a pet peeve of mine) or use the existing COD thread:

The single player is pretty good thus far, the multiplayer, which I played nonstop in COD4 for the first 2 months it came out as a comparison, is pretty fresh and much better than I experienced in the BETA version.
It's also pretty cool that you can play all the campaign missions in 4 player co-op. That seems like it will be pretty fun to just replay a random mission with 3 team mates. They even have leaderboards for each mission on that mode. I played 2 or 3 missions in co-op and it was a fresh experience.
I see myself investing a lot of time in this one.
I myself wanted to jump on the amazon deal but I got Call of Duty 4 last year 3 days early and I wanted to continue the tradition this year too.

This little tidbit has me excited to finish the game just so I can go through it a 2nd time:
Upon completion of the campaign mode, ready yourself to kill zombies, as a new mode will open up allowing you to kill zombies instead of soldiers. This mode will really add to the replayability of the game, as you can team up with up to four people on- or offline. If you love Resident Evil, then you will certainly enjoy this mode, as the Nazi zombies are going to scare the hell out of you! Personally, I find this game mode very entertaining!

I've played all of the Call of Duty games and even the bad ones had enough about them in single player mode that I liked. The fact the COD4 kicked the multiplayer aspect up and out of the stratosphere just seals the deal that much more. I'll be grabbing a copy tomorrow, blazing through the SP campaign as fast as possible, then hitting the MP for a good long time.

Has there ever been such a prominent, highly anticipated 360 or PS3 release with absolutely no reviews online or in print on the day of release? I thought SOCOM was conspicuous for the lack of early reviews, but this is even stranger.
