That's not too different than pretty much every other game where you have squadmates.

Nah. Other games' enemies don't completely ignore the rest of your squad.

Actually, this one has the enemies mostly ignoring your squadmates. This is very different from the first where it was more balanced and you actually saw mini-conflicts going on around you in the heat of battle. So, yes, it did get a bit cheap this time around. Also, for the most part, your squadmates usually can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I just beat the Leviathan today but it was sadly anti-climactic. It was very cinematic and very much straight out of the best action movies but it was also far too brief and far too easy (compared to everything that leads to it).

Spoiler:
Also, I'm totally lost as to why Hale feels that SHeperd would want him to be the one to finish it. It just feels too rushed towards the end. And what the hell happened to Major Blake? They give him this all important intro at the beginiing and then he's nowhere to be seen after the story jumps two years after the prologue.

That said, I still love the hell out of this game.

This link was posted on imdb but I can't seem to open it: http://projectabraham.com/blackout/

Supposedly it relates to the third game in the series.

I just beat the campaign. And it seems the zombie type characters are attracted to you rather than your squad mates, but every other "normal" bad guy is not. And I found my squad-mates to be quite useful in killing baddies, especially the zombie-types.

I definitely need to join a support group. My copy of Resistance 2 is sitting next to the tv ready to go, but Fallout 3 refuses to let me eject it from the PS3. Hopefully it will cooperate with my other PS3 games once I beat it, but something tells me its gonna be a battle to keep myself from playing through Fallout a 2nd time before I start playing Resistance 2.

I ended up playing a few hrs yesterday strictly 8 player coop trying to lvl up my soldier. Definitely a fun time, though like any online game you really have to find quality players using the headset or you get annoying people babbling about bs.

Did you play it on the default difficulty (casual)? Because I've been playing on normal and everything is strickly attracted to my character. Not just the zombies. Hell, when my squadmates opened fire on the first trio of Titans, the damn things ignored them and all went straight for me. And for the most part, I had to lure enemies into my squadmates to get them to actually kill more than two or three guys. I can only imagine what this'll be like on difficult.

Since Nathan Hale was infected from the first Resistance, perhaps all of the Chimera are attracted to him via scent, telepathy, or Planter's peanut breath.

I just finished the game last night and enjoyed the ending as well...although the boss battles aren't incredibly challenging (played on Normal).

that's what I was thinking, and thought it would make more sense with the zombie-type enemies.

Played quite a bit on co-op last night. It took me a while, but I think I figured out how it works. Basically, it seems like each map has, say 4-6 objectives. And each mission is some permutation of 2-3 of those missions. What I haven't figured out is if you repeat on of the missions, does it count towards your x/10 missions completed? Or is each mission completely randomly generated, and you just need to complete 10 total.

I finally finished the single player campaign last night. Great ending, although I expected it to play out a little differently.
Spoiler:
I didn't expect Hale to be so serene at the end and was really creeped out by that. But I seriously doubt that's the last we'll see of him. Especially not after reading the last entry in Dr. Malakov's journal (the suicide note). It just doesn't seem likely that he'd go down that easy.

I'm getting ready to play co-op now. So basically it's a side-story that fills some of the gaps in the single player campaign, right?

not quite. The way I understand it, is there's a group of maybe 5-6 objectives on each map. and each mission is random permutation of 3 of those objectives. So, there's no real story. But, it is very cool. You choose from different classes, advance levels, upgrade weapons & berkerk. lots of replay value.

By the way, once I finished the single player campaign it unlocked a mode called "Arcade mode" but it offers no info on it. What does this mode do?

took me 9 1/2 hours (according to in-game stats) to beat on Normal. I would consider myself an average speed player. I look for intel, but I don't look around every corner. Takes about 60-90 minutes per episode.

Looks like this game got a little lost in the shuffle of all the recent big releases... or maybe that's par for the course for PS3 exclusives as far as conversation on this board goes.

However, saw on CAG that Amazon has the collector's edition of this for 59.99. Lots of uproar about it because that's a 20 dollar price drop within a couple weeks of release...

collectors editions of games usually go on clearance within a month. there's not much demand for them after the first week. Happened with Madden recently, the CE was cheaper than the standard version.

Yeah, I payed $22 for the collectors edition of GTA4 a while back at Target. Collectors Editions are the first things that get cleared out.

I've done about 90 minutes so far (I haven't bought the game yet, only done a weekly rental) but my God, this game is massive but then again it delivers big time, equal to Fall of Man in every way and the Auger rocks, handy in tight spots.

One other thing, Resistance is no longer futile.

EDIT: I just defeated the Leviathan, a lot of fun.

So, considering the ending of this game and the upcoming PSP title,
Spoiler:
who else thinks Capelli wont be the new main character and instead that honour will go to the main character of the PSP title? At least for the bulk of the third game, since I doubt Hale is dead and, unless they seriously downgrade his powers for the next game, he wouldn't be using guns at all.
