“The fans asked for a multiplayer experience and we answered,”
Oh, we did? I know I didn't. Who was it? GamerTag HAL0PRINCEx1337x69?

It's really not changing a thing for me but coop (2 person) I can understand but MP? If the game's environment and setting is even somewhat close to the original there's simply not enough area except for close combat. Halo, COD, GOW it's not in terms of "map space".

Bioshock is the one game that does not need online multiplayer. It's meant to be played as a single player experience. All that money and time could've been put into the SP to make it a better experience.

They shouldn't have bothered.

Bioshock 1 was fine SP only. I've only played the game once, and in the PC, and I love the game. I post about it whenever I can. Someone wants to try something different? I recommend Bioshock. Similar games to X, I somehow find a relationship to Bioshock, etc., etc.
I bought one of the posters they released in the 2K Store. I bought the Little Sister figurine. I bought the "Bioshock, Breaking the Mold. Developer's edition. Art Book" !(and I love it by the way). And I recommend all of those for big fans of the game.

But no, I don't care about that kind of MP after reading some comments in Kotaku/Joystiq.

Eew...Just what Xbox needed..yet another online multiplayer FPS. Bioshock kicked butt because it was something different, an engaging single player story with an immersive and novel environment. Yes, I played it only once. But it is still one of my favorite games on the 360. I paid full price for it. The current reigning kings of online MP, Halo 3 and CoD 4, I paid nowhere near full price for.
The only MP component Bioshock needed was a way to share some of the single player story moments and encounters with other people.
What I know of the SP for BS2 looks good, so it's definitely still on my radar, but I don't really care about competitive MP, but I'd be potentially interested in co0op especially local.

Agreed
Leave out the MP, and add some more polish to the single player.

I don't care about the multiplayer one way or the other, just so long as the single player experience doesn't suffer.

I'm just now playing Bioshock for the first time (I think I'm nearing the end). Its such an addicting game. I never play online so this is exactly my kind of game. The thought that the second one will be Live is a little unnerving because it always seems to shorten the campaign version.

Think this is new. Its a 9 minute walkthrough of Bioshock 2 (least I think its Bioshock 2, the video is way to damn dark)

May want to try IGN's own site as they have it up for a clearer picture plus they have it up in HD as well. A whole lot of talk on this over at the Y2k Bioshock 2 forums with almost everyone excited about it. Still 9 min walkthru...now...don't sound right.

As cool as that looks, I could only watch about a minute. I really don't want to spoil anything. I'm so excited.

I will second/third this. This game is the ultimate single-player/pure immersion (pun intended) version.

The only thing being mentioned is "fall of 2009". Not even a month is out there.

Well a date has now been offically anounced....November 3rd - North America

You do know what that means? In a period of (7) days we'll get two of the this years biggest games in Bioshock 2 and COD:WaW2 (November 10th). Why in the hell could at least one release at least a few weeks or even a month sooner or later?

You should be able to finish Bioshock 2 in one week.

But seriously, the first one was like 10-12 hours. I don't expect this one to be over 15 hours. So if you really are desperate to play COD6, you should be able to finish Bioshock in time.

Yeah, the first was closer to 14 on the low side. Unless people are talking about playing on Easy.

I think I was around 16 hours or so. But admittedly, I didn't rush through anything and did a little more exploring.

It took me around 14 hours and didn't rush it. On Normal, but I was playing the PC version.

Took me awhile to beat Bioshock as well. Probably over 20 hours, but I did alot of exploring and taking in the environment.

Re: Bioshock 2:(no longer)Sea of Dreams(dammit, maybe it still is-nope, just the trai

I'm not one to rush a game by trying to complete in less than a week. If I were on a rental system yea but just have other things to do like home, work, wife, etc....

I rushed thru the first Bioshock and would love to go again but I already have two I working on and Red faction and Ghostbusters are around the corner.

Now today I found out another title is coming out around the same time as COD: WaW2. Bad enough Bioshock 2 is a week before now throw in no other than Assassins Creed 2. Yea....been confirmed around the same time.Between mid October to mid November.
