Thanks. I just wanted to know if it was possible.
More questions...when I hooked up my 360, one of the cords had a switch that had you move to one side or the other like this: <--HD ____ Regular TV-->
I have an HD TV, so I selected HD. However, I didn't hook up my HDMI cable in the HDMI slot so I am wondering if I am really getting HD picture?

You can get HD with component cables or VGA, but not with S Video or RCA cables.
If you use the Component cables that come in the box, then yes, it's HD on an HDTV.

There is also a setting in the dash you need to check. On the System Blade go into Display settings and make sure you set the resolution to what your TV accepts. If you are using component cables you can set it up to 1080i if your TV allows it. You have to use HDMI or VGA to output at 1080p.

Whoah whoah whoah.
Are you saying i need to read the thread now? What's next? Websites outside of DVDTalk? Not using multiple coupons for burritos? Not playing 3D games due to my phd program getting in the way? Being pissed there is no power button for the 360 on the back?
Madness i tell you!

Ok lets have some more fun! Heres the deal:
Looking into getting a 360. What is the best deal right now to get this thing turned into a music gaming station. I have no need for BluRay, and no desire to upgrade my collection to BluRay. And the rumblings I hear about the future of BluRay are not good. So PS3 is not even on my radar.
I want GH/WT and RB franchises.(Which full kit to buy?)
I want the least amount of plastic hanging out in my living room.(What instruments work with what and which ones are the best?)
I will be setting it up wireless. (Will need a WiFi adapter)
I will be DLC -ing. (What is the best size drive to get? Can you plug in an external HDD?)
I already have a plasma HDTV.
Will the 360 upconvert DVDs to HD quality using HDMI?
What is the future of the system and how long before the next version is out?
What revision of the thing is shipping now and will there be more HW revisions shipping in this generation. The RROD thing I do not like and do not want to get caught in it.
Most affordable (yes cheapest) options available on all fronts please.

Up in the air right now...
You've got full cross-compatibility with all the new instruments, but if you want to go back to GH2/3 then you'll need GH hardware: http://www.joystiq.com/Instrument-Co...atrix/#Xbox360
Or a cheaper bridge.
Figure ~30mb/song. 20gb hdd is cheap as dirt if you buy the arcade bundle (currently $170 on dell.com).
You'll want an HDMI cable - monprice.com
Quite well, yes.
?
Don't worry about this, honestly.

I still have space on my 20 gig HDD but it slightly bugs me that i have to worry about space and can't just download demos willy-nilly to review a week or so later.
If i was buying a new system now i would buy the 60 gig unit. As a matter of fact i may end up buying a 120 gig HDD over the holidays so i don't have to worry about space.
RB DLC is the main thing taking up my drive but there are other things too. Map packs for Halo 3 and Gears. Presumably map packs for Gears 2, more for Halo 3, etc. Then i also have like 15 -18 Live Arcade titles.

How much space is the new dashboard going to take?
Looks like a 60GB is the way to go at this point. I may not get every song ever released on DLC but 20 just seems to small in any HD console now.

Get on it MS!
