Yeah, it truly is terrible. And I wanted to like it. The worst part about the game though, and this is purely my opinion, the soundtrack is awesome. Great mix of metal and hair metal that I hope gets on Rock Band asap.

Curiosity got the best of me and I picked up Rock Revolution for $15 - what a shitty game. Not only does the vertical scrolling make you feel motion sick (unlike RB), but whoever thought that POISON NOTES were a good idea is a retard - even passing some songs, you fail out because your score isn't high enough - WHAT THE FUCK? Not to mention the sheer idiocy of having to MEMORIZE songs in the practice challenge.... Worst. Game. Ever.

I wouldn't have listened to me.

I love these music games so much that no one could have told me otherwise. The difference is I was the moron that paid $50 on release day...thankfully the game tanked so bad I price adjusted within 30 days after taking a $20 hit on amazon. The game is just that bad, unfortunately.

If GH:WT didn't have Pull Me Under in it, I would have picked up RR for that song alone. Thanks Neversoft!

New for 2009 - Put together a weekly update you'd like to see hit the game(s) this year. Album, Artist, Genre, Hodge Podge, whatever. No rules, other than to have it make sense (i.e. realistic, no 69-track mega release of all things Deicide) and be epic to you.

Sponge 3 Pack
Plowed

Molly (Sixteen Candles)

Wax Ecstatic (To Sell Angelina)

What if I can't live without screaming "Satan spawn, the caco-daemon!!!"?

I'll put together a list later today after I run some errands.

Pinata - I loved Sponge, their live show is ridiculous.

I'll go with a LIVE 3-pack:

Operation Spirit (the bass track alone is badass)
I Alone (of course)
Lakini's Juice

Re: General Music Game Discussion Thread (Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Rock Revolution, et

Had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times down here in the Rotting Pinata (where I got my name, btw) and Wax Ecstatic days. Only recently discovered they're putting music out and playing shows again. Hoping to see them again some day.

They did this cover of Wish You Were Here that blew me away.

Agree that Live is sorely missing and would love that 3-pack you put together.

I wasn't a huge fan of Sponge the first time I saw them, a friend had tix and so I tagged along. After the show, I immediately bought their albums. One of the best shows ever. I didn't know they were putting out music again, I'll have to pick up their new record if they have one.

Wow, three albums after New Pop Sunday? Sounds like a nice three pack to check out.

I know, right? Sadly they didn't do much for me on first listen, but I need to go back.

New Pop Sunday was a huge disappointment for me, after how good the first two albums were. I'll still give them a shot, it's not like there's much else good out there right now I don't already have.

Here's 20 Classic Rock tunes, I just threw together that would be great 'one off' tracks. I tried to stick with artists that are rarely mentioned in these 'name what you want' discussions.

I don't recall seeing it mentioned much but think that 'Play that Funky Music' by Wild Cherry would be a great party song, not to mention the guitar solo would be pretty sweet as well.

I'd love some Failure in the games. Going with two tracks from Fantastic Planet and their goddamn amazing cover of Enjoy The Silence.

Failure My wife would love that. She has 100 songs on her iPod and that album is on there, so I hear it quite a bit.

I guess this would be the place for this....

I got GH III, GH WT and RB II for XMas. I started with GH WT and am 90%+ through Easy (I NEVER played one of these games before).

I threw in the RB II disk this weekend to start a career with that.

Am I wrong to think RB controls are sensitive compared to GH? When playing GH it seems like everything syncs up (hands/eye/music) right out of the box. RB I had to go in and make changes and even now i feel like i have to be slightly behind where I would be on GH.

Yeah, it's going to differ depending on your set-up between the two games. The best thing you can do (assuming you aren't using an RB2 guitar) is to look in the RB2 manual and use the presets it gives you for calibration for your type of TV. Those should be very, very close, then you can tweak it from there if needed.

I would kill for a My Morning Jacket 3 pack...

One Big Holiday (I love Conan's reaction after the band is done with the song. He's clearly blown away.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0Q9iAcPjzc

Mahgeeta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wz66KGH210

Off The Record http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-izg6Mn8co

A 3 pack by The Hold Steady would be pretty great as well...

Stuck Between Stations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Isvn_Dsj2bA

Constructive Summer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU7Y0DdLN48

Lord, I'm Discouraged (mostly for the guitar solo) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU7Y0DdLN48

Came up with a nice themed 3-pack this morning.

Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bangles

Winds of Change - Scorpions

Patience - Guns N Roses (biker shorts a must for the vocalist)
