Hmm, I heard Alien Hominid is really freakin hard. I wonder if it's worth it for fun, or I'd just be left frustrated and not getting anywhere.

Depends on how awesome of a gamer you are, and how easily you get frustrated. I ran through it several times for all of the achievements, and it was pretty fucking difficult, but I never found it overly frustrating.

Battlestations: Midway was such a good game. I just wish the learning curve wasn't so incredibly steep.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

1. I was commenting on an original game that was having DLC discounted in an XBL special promotion that was posted in the XBLA thread.

2. At no point did i violate any of Unclegramps' declarations and discuss price and/or value.

3. Mini-modding is amusing and i was happy to do the bump/set for Corvin's spike.

4. I am truly troubled that my reputation for always staying on topic might be tarnished. Especially for something so vitally nuanced as the difference between an XBL thread and a XBLA thread.

Add another one to the list of player addicted to Peggle. Downloaded the trial and within 10 minutes unlocked it and have been playing most of this afternoon.

Well, I guess I missed that previous post above and the comment seemed way out of left field without it. Sorry.

Alien Hominid seems so freakin hard, that even at 400 points it would likely be a pass for me. I couldn't get past the damned demo it was so tough. The main reason I would consider buying it is to get the Alien as a playable character in Castle Crashers. I dunno, it's tough for me to pass up such cheap games, even if I know that I'm unlikely to get much enjoyment out of them...

I agree. I played the demo when it first came out and it frustrated me to no end. I love the art style but i really had a difficult time discerning the bullets from the backgrounds. I would find myself hit and killed without even seeing the bullet.

I've found playing Peggle can put me into a vaccum of time, so I couldn't even guess.

Why does Peggle do that? Last night...two hours gone in a flash. Today, I went for a copule of 30+min stretches without worry.

Geometry Wars 2 is in danger! Geometry Wars 2 is in danger!
Up until now GoW2 is my most played game according to my blog, but it seems Peggle it's going to be the new king in a couple of months.
Yeah, I'm addicted too. Played last night until 2 am, even though I woke up at 5 am...

And this morning I was playing again, another couple of hours. And the game is big in options, like GoW2, so I can see spending a lot of time on it.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

What's funny about Peggle is you actually spend far more time watching what's happening rather than actually playing.

But what makes this more addictive than, say, Bust-a-Move?

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

You can play the "X" (blue) button to speed up the action, or so I read when I was playing.

Last Friday was kinda funny, my 9 years old daughter saw me playing in the Xbox and she wanted to play, I wasn't going to giver the controller so I told her that the game was also in the computer, and there we are, both of us playing Peggle at the same time.

(Yeah, I know we can play versus, but I was playing adventure )

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

So, any tips to get highers scores in Peggle?

After several tries I was finally able to get over 300K points in one of the challenges. But then I saw that there are challenges for 400K and 500K!

Depends on what you mean by "all". Battleship, Connect Four, Scrabble and Yatzee! drop Wednesday. Sorry, Sorry Sliders and Boggle are TBA.

Each Hasbro game is going to 800pts a piece. I can't see dropping 800pts for Connect Four.

Don't think of it as $10 for Connect Four....think of it as $70 for Connect Four, Scrabble, Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry! and Sorry! Sliders.

That's better...right?

I think it took about 4hrs for me. I didn't even bother checking to see if you could save it, or autosave, felt like I had to finish it in one shot.
