Having two analog sticks for controls would make this Virtua On far more playable than the Dreamcast version which, while good, was not too fun with the standard controller.

Actually with UL a strong contender for a championship this year, it does feel like 1983... hey, wait a minute...

Yeah, that's really good. Not up there with Castle Crashers (5073), Geometry Wars 2 (4283), but on par with SSFIIHD Turbo (2782) and way better than last week's Watchmen (364) or the previous week's Exit 2 (55, including me, ugh).

Yeah I thought that game was cool and if I wasn't broke right now I might have got it. And I just played the hell out of the peggle demo and am convinced especially since I have avoided this game somehow before now.

I picked them both up. I haven't played through the newest one yet, but the first one was pretty good. It was a bit longer than most of the other levels in the main game, and you got to play in two forms. I had to do two run-throughs as I missed some stuff the first time, but they'll eat up 30-60 minutes a piece, I'm sure. That's worth 100 spacebucks to me.

It's the "sequel" to Exit which was originally a PSP game. I use the quotation marks because it feels more like an expansion pack with lots of new levels and a few new features, but largely unchanged from the 2005 original game. It's a puzzle game but it looks like a platformer. You play as Mr ESC, an escape artist who can climb, jump and swim to help rescue survivors. The puzzles sometimes require careful thought and planning and are timed, with a score based on how quickly you rescue the survivors and how many you can save.
I find it amazing that they still haven't fixed the audio from the first game with the survivors saying the same brief phrases over and over again. "I need a hand!" "I really need a shower" "I'm not scared!". Arrrgh. Couldn't they think of anything new to say in the sequel? Mr Esc still says "I really hate stairs" when he climbs up onto a box, but curiously not when climbing stairs. They've had years to fix these annoyances and they still haven't.
The game looks like it would be a fast paced platformer, so when you see that it plays out as a puzzler, some may be disappointed. For me, I still loved the first game despite the flaws and to get another 250 levels is a bargain at $10. If you didn't like the first, nothing in Exit 2 would change your mind.
I think part of the reason it did so shockingly poorly is that the demo was badly chosen. It was several stages' first level and the first few levels from stage 1. That would seem to be adequate, but actually it was way too easy with minimal puzzle solving, so it came across as a boring, tedious slog instead of a brain teaser. They should have included a few tougher levels to give a better taste of how challenging the game can be.

Thanks guys for the high notes on Peggle. I downloaded the trial last night but did not get a chance to try it until today. Right after I finished the first level, I unlocked it and just spent 2 hours playing this.
