http://www.xbox360achievements.org/n...Explained.html

On Monday we relased the achievemnts for Family Game Night by EA, but some people were a little confused as there were seven different titles for 1400 gamerpoints. A bit odd as seeing no games release with 1400 points.

We contacted EA and received the following information.

The Hasbro Family Game Night destination on Xbox LIVE Arcade will house a collection of 7 different arcade games, each with 200 gamerscore points. There are 10 achievements and 200 gamerscore points per game for a total of 1400 gamerscore points and 70 Achievements across all 7 games.

In mid-March EA is launching four of the seven announced titles: SCRABBLE (North America only), BATTLESHIP, CONNECT FOUR and YAHTZEE. BOGGLE, SORRY! and SORRY! Sliders will be releasing the coming months. The games will be sold individually for 800 Microsoft points.

So hopefully that clears the air a little.

I think Watchmen is a lot of fun, much better graphics and gameplay than I expected. 1600 is kind of steep, but the game is worth it, especially if you're a fan of the brand. You can rush through to get the 80 minute achievement, but you can also take your time, learn all the special moves/counters, and pick up all the achievements.

Outrun Online Arcade

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix

First out of the gate on March 18th is Hasbro Family Game Night. Following that, I’ll post each Monday what that weeks Arcade release will be.

As you can see, that we’ve got seven titles..for a six-week promotion. The Arcade team decided they’re going to surprise you one week when they double up the fun.

No Galactrix until at least the 25th, :(

Not necessarily. It could be on the 18th, though he probably would have said that...

What about the 11th (next week)? I don't remember hearing anything about what we'll be getting then. Could be Galactrix.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

Nah, according to Major Nelson, Galactrix won't be until 3/18 at the earliest. Most likely not before 3/25 as pointed out by flashburn.

Disregard my previous post. I didn't read that Major Nelson quote very well. I am Error. :(

It's interesting that they're counting Hasbro as one XBLA game and not four. I'll be in for Scrabble and Yatzee at 800 a piece, absolutely, but no way Connect Four or Battleship are worth that much.

From what I've read, Outrun is a stripped version of the previous Xbox game, so that would likely be a pass for me. Flock looks like fun, though that might be one I gameshare on the PSN instead. Dishwasher is a day one purchase for sure -- I loved that demo. Haven't heard much about the remade Lode Runner.

All this talk makes me wonder what they're planning for this next week. My prediction : something crappy!

Peggle seems likely, no? It's not part of the Days of Arcade promotion and I think it was announced for March, so that's my uninformed prediction.

Shit, I just noticed that! That would be awesome if true.

Well, I just bought it for PC on Tuesday for $2.50 (and already have it on ipod), but of course I'm getting it for 360 as well. I just love that stupid little game.

I was thinking : I guess there's no local multiplayer for Scrabble or Battleship, which is a function of the game but unfortunate nevertheless. It almost makes me long for a PMU (or whatever they called that little LCD screen you plugged in a Dreamcast controller). That was a neat little innovation.

Actually, there is local multiplayer on Battleship (not sure about Scrabble). They actually tell you to "look away from the screen" while the other player places their ships.

Last I heard Watchmen was going to be episodic, three parts. Is that still the case?

Yeah, I guess you don't need to see your own fleet after placement. I suppose that works.

Days of Arcade Promotion? Just looks like a regular queue of releases to me, don't see anything special about it.
Now if they are going to release them all at 400 msp or something like that I could understand the hype...

Hope Lode Runner is good.

I tried the Watchman game. Pretty bad, it's obvious the product was rushed to market to coincide with the film. At least it isn't a full-priced title like most movie tie-in shovelware.

You really consider it shovelware? The visuals, depth of combat, and atmosphere were great and the overall gameplay is solid for a XBLA game. I know it is cool right now to bury higher priced stuff, but I don't get all the hate for this one. It is by no means an epic game, but shovelware?

I tried the demo and I didn't really like it. Seems like just another beat em up title.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

The environments and enemies are repeated ad nauseum. There's no variety in play. The animations are stiff and limited. I suspect this game could have been a lot better had the developers had more time to work on it.

For an example of a good beat 'em up XBLA, check out Castle Crashers. It surpasses this game in every way.

It's a game meant to sell based on its title, not its content.

Re: XBLA Thread Part thrizzee (3)

I can see I am in the vast minority on this, but I still don't think this is bottom of the barrel shovelware. I'm probably biased being a fan of the license, but I thought it was fun. Not Castle Crashers fun, but decent. I do think there is depth though, to a point, if you seek out all the finishers and counters, but the demo doesn't offer much in that way.

I might be in for both Peggle and Crystal Defenders.

I'll grab all of the The Maw DLC when it's all been released.
