Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this game. I think you can borrow your friend's individual squires and use them yourself in combat, then return them to their owner with new gear. That sounds like it could be fun.

Did you missed out on PS+ free Guacamelee? I'm pretty sure it was free, that's how I got it for the PS3 and Vita (both copies).

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Weekly PS Plus update. It's a big one. I'm busy this morning so it'll just be a quick cut & paste for now.

PS Plus: Ibb & Obb, Resogun & Contrast Free for Members

+ Posted by Kristine Steimer // Sr. Community Specialist

PlayStation 4 is only a work week away! Once a shiny new PS4 is acquired, PS Plus members will be able to download both Contrast and Resogun for free. Resogun is an intense new shoot-em-up from Housemarque, the talented folks behind Super Stardust, Outland and Dead Nation. If you’re someone that likes to get to the top of a leaderboard, Resogun should be right up your alley. In a completely different vein, Contrast is a beautiful puzzle-platformer where you control a little girl’s imaginary friend that can shift from the 3D world into the 2D realm of shadows. Of course, you’ll need something to do while you’re trying to keep your mind off the fact that the PS4 is ever-closer, so why not partner up with a buddy and tackle ibb & obb, an adorable gravity-centric puzzle game?

You can download ibb & obb as well as take advantage of the discounts below when the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow. Resogun and Contrast will be available starting November 15th.

PlayStation Plus Update 11-11-2013

Contrast (PS4)

Contrast

Contrast is a 2D/3D puzzle/platformer, set in a 1920′s vaudevillian, film noir dreamscape, full of cabaret, illusion and performance. Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Warframe starter pack...nice. If I don't see some reviews soon, I might just stick with F2P until Black Friday.

But the thing that really jumped out to me: Beyond Good & Evil HD for $2.50

If you've never played BG&E, you'd be crazy not to pick it up at that price. I'm gonna buy it just to have it, even though I already have the Gamecube version.

I'm all over Call of Juarez Gunslinger for $3.75. I've heard good things about that one.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Yeah, it's good. I got it for the 360 when it went on sale for double that price.

Any thoughts on Cloudberry Kingdom, Expendables 2, or Shoot Many Robots? Any of them worth a go at $2.50? I'm always temped by super-cheap games, but it's not like I'll be sitting around with nothing to play this week in either case...

Oh, just noticed Outland as well. It's a real winner from the makers of Resogun, Dead Nation and Super Stardust.

I think Outland was free for + members at one point. I'm pretty sure I have it, but just just haven't played it yet.

Yes, it was a freebie in the past for PS Plus. It's hard.

I didn't think it was that hard. I got 100% of the trophies, and I tend to think of myself as not particularly good at platforming.

It was a pretty cool game. While I never finished it due to other things interesting me more, I thought it was fun.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Has anybody here ever bought a game that they already had as a PS Plus freebie just to "own" it?

Sometimes I see this $2-3 sales, and I think about it.

It's actually not even possible as long as your PlayStation Plus member. You're not even given the option to purchase it. It shows as already purchased

You could probably set up a new account on the same system and buy it. I haven't tried it, but it might work.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

something similar actually came to bite me in the ass on the day of the dead sale for The Walking Dead. I own All 6 episodes and 400 Days for PS3, so I wanted to buy the Vita version that was on sale. But 400 days is cross-buy, so it wouldn't let me buy the Vita pack, which included 400-days. I tried this only on the website, Tuesday just before the sale was over. I may have been more successful on the Vita Store.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Thanks all for recommending Okami HD and Guacamelee. I've picked those 2 up in the past sales and they are really good. I love the visuals/artstyle in both (especially Okami) as well as the gameplay. The music is awesome in Guac too!

The only drag so far in Okami is the "no voice" voiceovers. It is so damn annoying! For those that don't know what I'm talking about, it sounds like when the adults talk in the Charlie Brown cartoons except it is 1000 times more annoying. The opening, LONG and unskippable intro, with the voiceovers almost turned me off from the game.

Okami was one of my favorite games on the Wii. I think I spent 60 hours on it.

If you liked Okami, you'll like Beyond Good & Evil. They have very different aesthetics, but they are both essentially Zelda games and are both excellent. I think BG&E is the better of the two.

BG&E is $2.50 this week.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Thanks for the tip. I've always wanted to play one of those but never had a PS2 or any of that. I think I'll pick up the first one and if it's good go for the second. My wife likes scary movies so I'm hopeful maybe she would like this game, even.
