Re: Official PSN Games Thread
A mini called Karimogi ate my Sunday. At about 9 AM, I started playing it just to check it out, and I looked up and it was 5 PM. It has familiar puzzle mechanics, but I can't emphasize enough how much I dig the platformer elements.
It was free on PSN Plus at some point, and it's worth every penny of $2.99. I think I like it better than Critter Crunch as far as PSN puzzlers go. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fAB26MCTKMY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Thanks for the heads-up. One of the many minis I've grabbed as freebies that I've yet to check out. I like Flying Hamster, but it's pretty unforgiving. Didn't like the pipe one at all, though.

I think Episode 1 is free on PSN. At least it's a demo that's available, but I think its the entire first episode. Grab it.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I'm sure that's just a demo. The full episode was free for PC (and probably still is) at http://www.telltalegames.com/bttfoffer with the coupon code 161GIGAWATTS

I played a bit more Karimogi last night. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure it out, it's very fun. The thing that took me the longest to sort out is that you can jump and push at the same time...so consider that a tip, I s'pose. |

This looks to be a fun little "freebie" for PlaystationPlus users today:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jmn6yFy9ncA?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jmn6yFy9ncA?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> |

The emulation has major issues like most backbone efforts. I had the game freeze for a few seconds several times while playing and the music still sounds off to me. However, it does have a full complement of trophies so even if you have the Sonic Mega Collection or the higher quality emulation on the Virtual Console this is a reason to play Sonic again. Once I grab the trophies though I'm probably deleting it. I still own a Genesis and CDX and don't have to deal with emulation this poor to play Sonic. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I played Pix'n Love Rush for a bit before Warhawk tonight. Interesting little game, but I didn't see anything worth paying for if you don't have PS+.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I'll likely pick up Marvel Pinball at the first sale. I liked what I saw in the demo.

And I'm suprised no one's mentioned it but they also released today the followup to the PixelJunk shooter tutorial. They're calling it PixelJunk Shooter 2. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Pixeljunk Shooter 2 is awesome. That is all.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Results of the PlayStation Network Gamers' Choice Awards contest.
Best PS3 Downloadable Game * Castle Crashers Best PSP Downloadable Game * God of War: Ghost of Sparta Best PlayStation Mini * Age of Zombies Best PSN Exclusive Game * Dead Nation These four games will be discounted by 30% for everyone and 50% for PS+ members for one week stating today. |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Castle Crashers and Dead Nation are mine!
I actually got PSN+ last week for this sale and the Stacking freebie. Am I right to think that when I buy a game on sale via PSN+, I still "own" it, and it's not dependent on continued PSN+ membership like the free games? |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
That's correct. Anything you paid for is yours to keep, even if purchased with a discount. The free Themes and avatars are yours to keep as well.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Explodemon trial is finally released today.
|
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I really should buy Dead Nation. I liked what I played of it at a friend's. He hates it though, for some reason.
|
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I will definitely be buying it for 30% off.
|
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
flow is $2.99 on amazon right now. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002GP6WBS/

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I purchased Dead Nation and I'm enjoying it tremendously even though I'm playing it on Grim to unlock the Morbid difficulty.
Send me an invite if you want to play co-op... |
Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Attention 2-D fighting game fans (who don't mind an inordinate amount of anime fan-service in their games), the all-girl fighting game, Arcana Heart 3, is now available on PSN for $30.
Sounds pricey for a downloadable game, but it's a complete package, with lots of fighters, and a surprising amount of depth, and it certainly beats importing the Japanese disc for $100. |
