I remember liking the SARPBC demo. For $5 I'll probably pick it up.

That demo was terrible.

No.

Battle Cars was an interesting demo, but it's not something I'd play regularly. I know it's not the same, but I'd be much more inclined to play Burnout Paradise.

R&C QFB was pretty disappointing, even at $10...and I really like R&C.

It reminds me of all of the other racing XBLA and PSN games, most of which are terrible.

And it's below the bottom half of all PS3 games on Metacritic. There's 270 other games that are better.

So don't act like my opinion is some sort of outlier.

Eh. I like plenty of games that Metacritic determines to be bad.

From what I've read of Supersonic, a lot of professional reviews were based on the buggy release, as well as the fact that it has an incredibly steep learning curve. I mean, the reader average on IGN is a 9 if that says anything.

I'm willing to try it out for $5.

I picked up Battle Cars, and in my opinion, it's an excellent game for $5. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it controls well and I have a lot of fun with it.

I personally liked the demo. I'll pick it up for $5.

I'm sorry the Yaris: GOTY Edition never materialized. :(

I kind of want to pick up Battle Cars, but I'm not sure I'd ever play it...especially when Burnout Paradise scratches more or less the same itch.

What's up with Trine?

I like a joke as much as the next guy, but some topics are just off limit.

I like this quote, it shows they're not oblivious to the insane delays:

I realize that many of you have been waiting to get your hands on Trine for some time. I’d like to assure you all that we are deeply sorry about this delay. We worked really hard in order to give you the best experience possible playing Trine and we really hope you’ll enjoy it.

I still don't know about this. It looks great, but I wonder if an XBLA version will hit soon with online co-op. I mean who plays these games for local co-op? If I knew for sure I'd wait, but seeing how long it took to get the PS3 version up, I might go ahaead and get it instead.

Cool!

Unfortunately, $15 is my upper-limit for any downloadable game not called Wipeout.

So, who got Trine, and how's it play on the PS3?

Doesn't PSN update later in the day?

Yeah, usually between 5 and 8 PM Eastern.

$20.. NO way.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Having only played the PC version, I think Trine is an excellent game and well worth the $20. I can't comment on the PS3 version, though. There's no PS3 demo for some reason, but I believe that the PC demo is still available if anyone wants to try before you buy.

I never played the Oddworld games during the PS1 era, and I'm thinking I'd rather have both of them for $20 than Trine.

Am I off-base?

Outside the norm perhaps. I'd go Trine myself, it's meant to be pretty awesome.

UncleGramps 10-23-09 08:20 PM

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'd pick Trine too, but it depends on what you enjoy. I'd rather have one awesome new game than two classics I've already played, but that's just me.

I picked up Trine yesterday. Only got a few minutes with it, but I definitely liked where it was going.

I've paid more for games on the DS and PSP which weren't nearly as good.
