Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I've got the following in my cart:

Guacamelee (never played)
Unfinished Swan
Resogun: Season Pass

Anything else I should nab? I want Rogue Legacy and Oddworld but I might wait for a better deal than 10% off for those.

How is the TellTale Borderlands game?

BTW, they need to add a wishlist option in the store. I'd love to save some of these games as reminders for later purchasing.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I really liked the first episode of the Telltale Borderlands. Quite a bit better than the Game of Thrones and I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Shadow Warrior for $6 is probably the best deal on that list - a damn good first-person-shooter/stabber, with a good sense of humor. It's easily worth 5x the sale price.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I used my 10% off for :
Pinball Arcade Season 2 (PS4)
Pinball Arcade Season 4 Pass (PS4)
Three Pinball Arcade tables from Season 3 that I hadn't yet picked up (PS4)
Rollers of the Realm (PS4, Vita)
OlliOlli (Triple Cross-Buy)
#KILLALLZOMBIES (PS4)
Futuridium EP Deluxe (PS4, Vita)
Shadow Warrior (PS4)

Came to about $87. I saved an additional $5 by buying $40 of PSN credit from the source I posted above.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I bought the three I posted above plus went ahead and got Tales from the Borderlands. Came out to $20.73. I had $20 in my account so they had to hit the CC for the $.73 which the minimum is $5. So now I have $4 and change in my account.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I guess I'll check out the new Rocksmith songs that came out in the past few months, and use the 10% on that. It should be a good excuse to get me back into the game again.

God damn it!

Maybe I'll buy Peggle 2, since the Xbox crowd seems so nuts about it.

(EDIT: Referring to BF4 Premium)
I bit at $30. Didn't think it would go lower than that especially so quickly.

Oh yeah, here you go Chess Enjoy!

This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.

On PlayStation 4 you’ll receive one of the coolest games from last year – the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store. PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief. PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.

All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. When you watch, you may notice that the voice over has changed a bit, and my friend Ryan Clements is narrating instead of me. He’ll be handling the Plus communications from now on, including this post in the future, so thank you guys for all the support over the past couple years!

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Love it. All of it.

I've almost bought Transistor about 5 times, and Rogue Legacy is triple cross-buy, so 3 PS4 games this month.

Both of the new platformers look interesting as well. The only ones I may not get to are the PS3 games. Thief looked just OK, and Yakuza is highly regarded but may not be my cup of tea...but honestly, it's more just not wanting to bother with my PS3 when my PS4 is piling up a backlog.

Shame on me for buying Transistor on sale about a month ago. I'm not buying any digital games anymore (*not really). Stoked on the rest. Too bad it's not Thief on the PS4, but whatever - not like it looked that amazing anyway.

Honestly, if I could have picked two non-retail games for PS4, Transistor and Rogue Legacy would have been my picks. Without a doubt. Very stoked.

Thief is pretty decent, though I would hold off on buying it if you have a decent backlog already.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'm actually pretty psyched to check out that Greek game. Looks pretty awesome, especially for a free game at launch. Here's some info from the PS Blog last Fall :

Apotheon Coming to PS4 in January 2015
+ Posted by Jesse McGibney on Nov 07, 2014 // Designer, Alien Trap Games

A few months ago we were excited to announce our partnership with PlayStation and Sickhead games to bring our Greek Mythology inspired hack em’ up Apotheon to PS4. Now, we’re even more excited because after a whole lot of optimizing, beta testing, bugfixing, and paperwork, Apotheon will finally be launching in January 2015 on the PlayStation 4!

We’re just putting the last finishing touches on Apotheon, but soon enough you’ll be fighting your way up Mount Olympus, Aspis in one hand, Xiphos in the other.

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rOvwpj0pw9A?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Speaking of Olympus, in our last post we talked a bit about the combat that is at the core of Apotheon. This time, let’s shed some light onto the Mountain that makes up the game world itself.

Olympus is, as you’re probably aware, the mythical home of the Greek Gods. But in Apotheon, all the Gods have abandoned earth (even the little ones that live in streams, trees, and rocks) and so Olympus has become a pretty crowded place, with Zeus playing host to a lot of displaced divine refugees. Peaceful palaces have turned into bustling marketplaces, squatters have taken up residence in sewers, drunken Satyrs pollute sacred shrines, and armed guards patrol the clouds to keep the peace in the House of Zeus.

Once arriving on the Mountain, you the player can choose to tackle your ascent to the top any way you’d like. There’s a lot to explore, and you’re free to bring the fight to any of the Gods who reside nearby. Crash Apollo’s extravagant party, test your wits against the dangerous forests of Artemis, descend to Hades and back again, or maybe just break into some Agora houses to plunder some shiny Olympian treasure.

Wherever you decide to go first, there’s always a colourful cast of characters to help, hinder, or berate you with full voice acting. We’ve tried to stay as close as possible when it comes to the mythological roots of Apotheon, even employing a Classic Literature Consultant to make sure we don’t screw anything up too badly.

But don’t worry, if you don’t know who or what the Aloadae Otus and Ephialtes are, and why exactly Ares is so mad at them, we’ve got plenty of cool quotations from the ancients themselves to keep you in the loop (the Aloadae were two giant sexy men who kidnapped the god of war and stuffed him into a little bronze jar for an entire year). Greek Mythology is really weird, and we had to prove we didn’t make any of this stuff up.

Once we get a little closer to the New Year, we’ll have a more definite release date locked in, so stay tuned for news on that!

So downloading Rogue Legacy for Vita will allow you to grab it for PS4? Awesome. Good thing I didn't buy it Sunday with the 10% off.
