Good point.

I love the way they did combat in this game. It appears there is a large variety to it as well because I see him do something different every time I am in a large fight.

I really enjoy the aspect of being at the top of the room, watching what is going on and then figuring out how to take out each guy quickly and quietly. The fact that there are so many ways and options to do this make replayability higher than expected for me. And I don't mind getting my ass kicked and then going back to the drawing board and trying something else.

I know Kevin Conroy is the "voice" of Batman but sometimes his lines in this game seem phoned. Mark Hamill, on the other hand, seems at the top of his game every time he say ANY line. Who knew where Luke would end up!

Was it ever determined if you get to keep your leveled up Batman if you finish on Normal and then want to move to Hard?

I figured I'd probably have to, but didn't check to see if it was in the abilities list. The ONLY gripe I have with this game is upgrading abilities and unlimited weapons. (At least the one I've had so far)

I understand that traditionally games like this have upgrade features but ... he's Batman! Shouldn't he know how to do all this stuff already?

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

I forgot to ask for those Fallout 3 players playing this game...do you walk up to every locker and try to open the damn thing? Just two weeks of playing Fallout 3 recently and I am playing the Batman game just like it.

Every desk, every locker...I walk up and hit A and nothing happens. It's almost automatic and I can't seem to break it yet.

When you gain XP you also gain health. That includes Riddler challenges, destroying Joker teeth, etc. Heck, when I play on hard I may leave Riddler statues lying around so I can get a quick health boost when I need it, heh.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Alrighty, so earlier today I got to
Spoiler:
Ivy and that boss fight. I did it a few times, then "cracked" it and it became so easy. I was ready to brag about how I did it without really getting hit at all...and right when I thought it was over I came to realize that it was apparently just the first "phase" of the boss fight.

If you are that far, you'll know what I mean.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

That's pretty good.

Spoiler:
Yeah, the twist in the Ivy fight got me, too. But it wasn't really that daunting. I liked luring the hypnotized guards into the bramble and jumping out of the way at the last second. They didn't die but it was fun watching them squirm.

I was on the highest platform, only problem is that the question mark is under the highest platform, and I can't see it if I am standing up there

Well, I finished that part...

Spoiler:
I just beat Ivy. I was just irked that it tricked me earlier, lol. I'm glad it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be though. I thought the entire Ivy battle was going to be way too hard and I failed a number of times before I finally got it. I didn't realize that you could continuously toss Batarangs to take damage from her the entire time, and I also didn't realize that it was perfectly fine to touch the weeds once all of them have finally "sprouted" up. I was trying to avoid it all 100% until they totally went away.

Once I realized both of those little bits I nailed it.

Spoiler:
I didn't realize you could touch the brambles once they fully sprouted, either, but I never needed to.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

I haven't tried any challenge rooms yet. Are they anything like Terrorist Hunts in Rainbow Six: Vegas?

I think it would be awesome to just have a big area scattered with random armed guards and Batman has to take them all down without dying.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Batman A.A. is so bad ass it's now a world record breaker:

At one point, I feel like the Guinness World Records meant something, with people vying to grow their nails longer than a record holder. Or shove more ping pong balls in their mouth than the last guy. Or fart the alphabet.

Apparently not anymore, as Batman: Arkham Asylum has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever." Yeah, we know -- there really wasn't anyone keeping track of this stuff, but you have to hand it to them... the game is pretty damned good.

In fact, it seems the award was handed out based on the game's Metacritic average which currently stands at 91 percent. With that, our staff more or less agreed, giving it an average score of an 8 out of 10. But to really know what we think of the game, you'll want to read the review to find out of it's really the best super hero game ever. (Hint: Probably.)

I'd love to see a sequel that takes place in Gotham City proper. That would be a blast.

You don't. There is no "New Game +" option if you finish. Just a set of challenge maps for
Spoiler:
an armored Batman
.

Agreed. The ending really sets up Batman: Gotham City perfectly, and there were several very prominent villains that didn't get used in this game.

Spoiler:
Also, I loved using the line hook to take down enemies. There's one section where there are two goons on one side of a big pool of electrified water, and you're on the other side. They start taunting you about how you won't be able to get over to them. Then you line hook over and they actually say, "What the...? What's he doing!?" and then you knock at least one of them out by kicking them as you go by. So gratifying.

3 left. 1 set of 2 teeth, 1 trophy, and 1 riddle left.. the riddle has me stumped.. looked for an hour and could not find it.. I wish i had a baterang to put through the tv

Spoiler:
Have one in the caves, the cavern where you can't use your hookshot, the trophy. Have the one in intensive that says This ratcatcher needed more than his charm to win over the pests or something like that, and 2 teeth in east. Anyone have any ideas with the riddle? I have walked that area where the ? mark is at least a hundred times and can't find it.

This is where I'm having issues myself. But I do know...
Spoiler:
The Ratcatcher one is a bit tricky at first, and you will smack your head when you realize what the answer is. Look down when you are in the grate system and you will eventually see an opening covered by a grill. If you zoom in, you'll find the answer.

The riddle I'm having issues with:

Spoiler:
"Now I see it, now you don't!" -Arkham Island North. I'm able to get a partial solution when I see a hedge in detective mode, but I can't get the final solution.

The teeth issue:

Spoiler:
Check guard towers completely. It took me 20 minutes to figure that one out. There's also a couple on the ground near a fountain.

This is one of those damned riddler question marks. If it's the one I'm thinking of then it is in the ruins near the north. If that is the correct one then the dot is near the front entrance if I recall correctly, and the question mark is if you look up from there
