Ugh. I even tried walking the path out of the Temple..hoping to find him along the way..nope.

Yeah I had the same problem with that quest. I thought I screwed it up at first because I fast traveled over, but I ended up just going off to do some other quests and came back and they were there.

Its been more than a couple of days, I've turned in several other quests..Ugh. And of course I don't have a save point.

Did you check the nearby subway station? Apparently they sometimes are waiting there rather than at the memorial.

I think I'm the only person who was stupid enough to walk with them the entire way as the leader criss-crossed the map, taking the longest possible route. I think, despite being an NPC, he was trying to get an achievement for exploration. I think it ended up taking four hours of real-life time.

Yeah, I had to meet them at the subway station. On my map the quest marker showed that the end was there, not at the actual memorial.

This past weekend I went to the NY Comic Con and met Todd, the executive producer of Fallout 3.

He informed the panel that the last expansion pack will change the ending of the game completely, mostly due to a wide amount of negative feedback on the ending.

That's funny.

I just did this quest over the weekend. I did the fast travel, saw no one was there at the marker just outside the memorial, so I did the 24 hour wait and boop boop bleep - they popped right up in front of me. Teleport style.

About the outcome of the quest -
Spoiler:
I told Hannibal's crew that I'd take out the slavers myself, went over to the memorial to the see Leroy and told them I was going to kill the slaves. Then as soon as he turned his back on me - Boom! Shotgun to the back of the head. Took out the rest of the slavers and that was that. So my question is, do the slaves return the head to Lincoln? I finished the mission and got the achievement points, but the statue still is headless after several days.

Wow. Negative feedback on that ending....I can't imagine why. It's just dumb to release any content that requires you not to have beaten the game in order to use it. I mean - yes I can load an earlier save - but what if I hadn't had any good ones or if I had saved over them (since you can't leave the memorial once you get there).....Should I necessarily have to start a new game from scratch just to play a bonus mission that I paid for?

I wish they were releasing the fix to extend beyond Level 20 sooner. It sucks to get to Level 20 and still have a hell of a lot of game to finish, which means that certain doors and safes will never get unlocked.

You can still seek out books to improve your skills. Obviously, not the best tactic but it's something.

I have Lockpick, Small Guns, and Speech all at 100. Those are the only ones I felt I needed to boost.

So I'm an idiot. When I got F3 back a couple weeks ago, I started up a new game. I wasn't thinking that I didn't have a manual save, only auto saves. So when I started the new game, it auto saved over my old progress :(

No biggie though as I beat it with the various endings as a good-too-shoes, so now I am a bad ass mofo to change the game up.

I'm getting real close to finishing, as far as the main quest
Spoiler:
the next one is the point of no return
and I've got 10/20 Bobbleheads and 2/5 Behemoths and I'm going and doing all those while trying to get up to 100 locations found. This is one of the few games where the achievements are really fun to try and get, and I think I'll definitely be 1000/1000ing this.

Spoiler:

There's a bobble head in Raven Rock, if you didn't get it then, you'll have to go back to a previous save.
Oh, and you can finish the game and then, after loading a previous save kill the behemoths and find the 100 locations.

The hardest part about the 1000/1000 Achievements is getting the different Karma levels.

I guess they were waiting for a bus to take them the rest of the way. I'm surprised that wasn't fixed in the last patch. I never look for quest markers or whatever they're called on the map - I just follow directions characters give in the game, so I would have never found them there without other people's help.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

It makes sense though to be outside of the area because otherwise they'd engage in battle with the slavers that are holed up at the Memorial.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears

Does anyone else have Fawkes and Charon following them? I had Fawkes following me, then decided to go back to Underworld and Charon was there waiting for me. I asked him to rejoin me. At first the dialogue options showed he would follow me but he actually was just standing still. Then I kept trying it and he finally took. So, I have Fawkes and Charon following me around and Dogmeat back at my Tenpenny suite. I haven't tried to have all 3 follow me because I didn't see the point and I didn't want to risk losing Fawkes or Charon.

You won't lose Fawkes or Charon, because Dogmeat is one of those that you will always get no matter what. The only way you can lose one of your follower spots, is if they die, or you fire them.

Although if it was me, I would kill dogmeat, so you can pick up star cross

Oh, so you can have 3 followers? I didn't think you could do that.

well you are not suppose too, there is a glitch I think, if you google it, you will find those that have 4-6 followers.

4-6 followers?
And I thought the game was too easy with Fawkes as follower

It is easy with Charon and Star Cross.

But I did lose both of them before, deathclaw swiped them out something quick.
