Any of these reviews comment on differences between PS3 and 360 versions? Sorry, I'm too busy this morning to check any other than IGN review.

From Giant Bomb (spoilerized for length.)

Spoiler:
Having spent a lot of time with both versions of L.A. Noire, the PlayStation 3 game is the clear-cut winner. Both versions of the game look fantastic, but there were a few instances of painful frame rate drops and objects drawing in too slowly on the Xbox that didn't exist on the PS3. Also, the shadows look a bit more jagged. This is splitting hairs since, both games look good enough that you should just get the one on the platform you prefer, though the PS3 also has the added benefit of being on a single disc to the Xbox's three, and includes an exclusive downloadable case (which I didn't get to try, and you probably won't be able to play either until the PlayStation Store is back online).

Well according to giant bomb's review it DOES look like ps3 gets the exclusive case as outlined in the spoiler above.

Sounds like the PS3 has the superior version this time. Went ahead and pre-ordered from Amazon to use up some credits.

That IGN review is almost perfect. The first paragraph sums it up nicely. 12-20 hours even sounds right. Anyone on the fence, read that review

I'm just bummed my BB won't be doing midnight. I suppose that means they won't be getting any of the midnight DLC for me to ask for when I pick it up tomorrow.

If only someone here worked at BB and could hook a brother up!

Re: Whatever happened to LA Noire? -here's some info

Gamesradar gave the "clear" edge to the PS3, but only based on not having to swap dics, plus the extra case. They also have a side-by-side video (sorry, I stink at embedding) and said "there aren’t a lot of noticeable differences between the two versions":

I think if you're going in expecting Mad Men you're going to be very disappointed. Just my .02. You're welcome.

Clearly, my offhand joke meant that I expect L.A. Noire to be a playable version of Mad Men. If this is not the case, I will blame you personally for putting the idea in my head to begin with.

It might have been mentioned earlier but for the 360 can't you just install all discs and then you only have to have the 1st disc and never have to change it?

What is this Mad Men that people keep talking about? That movie with Henry Fonda?

Re: Whatever happened to LA Noire? -here's some info

So, the reviews I've read weren't clear on this, can anyone clarify? If I want to just pull out my pistol and go on a shooting spree like GTAIV, is that possible in LA Noire? It seems like the answer is no, but I'd like to know for sure...

Game looks good, but the amount of freedom I truly have in the world will determine if I buy this over the weekend or wait for clearance. The police stuff looks cool, but the story doesn't sound as captivating as something like Red Dead, so if I'm really stuck in the role of cop that will hinder replayability for me.

Here's the first screenshot of that. Looks pretty sharp.
