For anyone who is looking for the 80 gb bundle, you can buy it at Bestbuy.com. Unfortunately there is no in-store pick-up but it might be worth the shipping to save you all the trouble of hunting this sucker down.

Not no more you can't. If Sony wanted me to buy a PS3, they would've made them more readily available. I was on the fence about buying one, and if I had found one of these new 80gig MGS versions, I would've snatched it up. But after checking 4 stores (Best Buy, Target, Fry's, Toys R Us) and coming up empty-handed, I realized that I didn't want one bad enough to make more of an effort to look all around town for one - or to even wait - I feel that by the time it becomes more available, I will stop wanting one, that is, until Little Big Planet comes out...

You are correct. Now it's sold out. I didn't even bother to go to any stores. I saw it online thursday and decided to jump on it. Saved me the trouble of going to a bunch of stores. It shipped out same day and will be here by Tuesday. It was still available on Friday so it must have sold out some time after I looked. Oh well.

So i went shopping last night for some ps3 games and a psn points card. Every store didn't carry them. I know you can use debit or credit card but I'm not thrilled with giving out that information. Is sony secure enough to use a credit or debit card? Is there anything else that can be used besides cc?

I don't think so and I've never seen a PSN card. The site is secure and I suppose you could add funds to your wallet through the internet if you'd rather. In addition, you can delete your CC info after adding the funds to your wallet.

Thanks - I was looking for that yesterday, but couldn't find it.

That's a really good deal, as not only is the regular shipping free, but with no tax, you end up saving almost $40 (in CA, anyways) on the console alone. Further, they don't force a bundle on you and the games have a 10% discount.

You don't pay tax? I thought you paid tax everywhere with Dell now.

edit : I guess it's not everywhere. Unfortunately it is for me in NV I've bought a bunch of computers for my office and have paid a bunch in taxes.

Sales taxes are now collected for orders shipping to:

Texas, Kentucky, Nevada, North Carolina, Tennessee, Idaho, Ohio, Virginia,
Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, California and Florida.

I did order it from dell, and Decker's right, I got charged the sales tax, which I'd glossed over after I placed my order, but I see it now - oh well...

I tried to make order but I should pay taxes, too. And I'm located in NY.

I just added it to the cart just to see, and it's charging tax for SC also.

Someone at CAG is posting that $20 and $50 PSN card are now available at Meijer's exclusively. If you don't live in the midwest, you've still gotta use your CC, at least for now.

I noticed nobody in my Friend's List had the Super Stardust HD expansion pack so I'm here to put the word out that if you already have the game, you HAVE to spend the extra $5 on this, it makes an extremely boring (but pretty) Geometry Wars clone an insane game that easily goes toe to toe with the master. It has five new game modes, but the shining star is Endless Mode.

Ya know, I have the expansion pack, but I certainly would not call this game boring WITHOUT it. (I've never played Geometry Wars, though.)

Has anyone had a problem with the "springs" on the triggers going out? My new Dual Shock 3 had its right trigger lose its initial resistance (you'd have to press it down about a third of the way to get to a point where there would be resistance), and after opening it up I found that the wire that provides the resistance had become bent too far. I may be able to replace it with a trigger from my Sixaxis controller, but I'm not sure.

This seems crappy for a $50 controller. I hope this isn't a consistent problem.

you know, the funny thing is that i'm trying to break mine in to point where there will be less resistance on the l2/r2 pads. those 2 buttons need to be pushed down pretty far for it to register while playing cod4. on my 360 controller, shots would come off easily, but on the 360 it just seems to take a little bit longer to get shots off using the l2/r2 combo.

Fuckin' Dell.... I shoulda' known that their website was full of dirty lies when stating that the new 80gig bundle was in stock - now it's been delayed for a week. I called to cancel/complain, but they gave me free next-day shipping, so I figure I'll just sit it out.

It's not as bad as the shenanigans Gamestop's pulling - they have a pre-order up for the MGS bundle which they also say is coming in a week, but those fuckers are charging $55 extra for it.

Dell is notorious for that kinda thing. If its too good to be true at dell.com it is... they used to do this with really good deals on digital SLR's
