Wasn't EA working on a fantasy football thing? Maybe that's what the 'Live Score' thing is.

Other than gamerscore whores (guilty! but not to this extent unless free ) or enhancing the retail game experience, I can't see why this would move at all. I suppose to a subset of users it might be easier to have access to these stats without needing/having a computer and accessing the multitude of websites that already do this sort of thing.

Or if it'll also support NCAA stats and other sports, not just football. I suppose there could eventually be more value in this than initially meets the eye...
Didn't they have this for free on previous releases?

Not on the last one I have: Madden 2001 for the PS2.

Anyone hear about the stars in Braid? Potentially a minor spoiler:
Spoiler:
Hidden stars scattered throughout the world? I hadn't heard of that until today. From Wikipedia:
There are also eight stars hidden throughout the world of braid that correspond to the stars in the constellation just outside the player's house. Each star is considered extremely difficult to find and are usually just off screen in areas that seem impossible to reach.
Supposedly if you collect them all, there is an alternate ending. I'll have to try this out.

Amazon was Johnny on the Spot today with the pub codes. Well done guys!

Sadly, I'm at work and won't try it out tonight. Then it's all about gambling for me! I'm going to make my mofo rich, and then buy all of albion; all while systematically nailing every one's spouse (in game) who invites me to play.

Staring at this post, unable to make sense of it, I thought it a homage to Braid's more elusive puzzles. I then ran the post through babblefish, translating it to German, and it made a lot more sense...

let me break it down for you.

Amazon was Johnny on the Spot today with the pub codes. Well done guys! - Amazon do good, get code out fast. Kudos Amazon.

Sadly, I'm at work and won't try it out until tonight. Then it's all about gambling for me! - I forgot a key word.

I'm going to make my mofo rich, and then buy all of albion; all while systematically nailing every one's spouse (in game) who invites me to play. - I'm going to make my mofo (character) rich, and then buy all of albion (the land in fable.) All while nailing everyone's in game spouse when i get a game invite.

Great news on the pub games code from Amazon. I wasn't even going to check until Friday (that's the date they promised it would go out).

If I preorder Fable 2 now from Amazon, would I get the code now?

That "game" is like a 300 point add-on for people playing in a Fantasy Football League. I think it is a stat tracker like some of the sites will sell to help you make your picks and adjustments in your league.

Braid is the Donnie Darko of video games. There's so much ridiculous disconnected imagery at the end of this friggin' game that I want to kick Jonathan Blow in the nuts.

I've love to know why there wasn't a secret achievement for the stars. They are a royal pain the ass to get, especially the one in world 2.

Bionic Commando is great the old game was great but without a save function was tricky. Really digging it.

Will we be getting a review from you on this?

And if so, will you give it a lower score that will knock it down from its lofty perch atop the Metacritic all-time list?

Pub Games is such a disturbingly terrible game that I honestly feel angry and mad while playing it. What a waste of entering in my free code!

I may be working on something tonight.

Agreed. I felt overly generous giving it 2.5 stars.

Castle Crashers pricing revealed!

http://devblog.thebehemoth.com/?p=300
Hello everyone on the internet!
The price for Castle Crashers will be 1,200 Microsoft points. This month’s only online multiplayer XLA game launches on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008, so get ready to grab some friends and prepare to smash stuff!

Domo arigato Mr. Roboto

Thank you

Love you

-dan
I'm completely sold! This game's going to be so amazingly awesome that it might, just might hold me over until Sept. 14th.

I definitely think the pricing of Braid was merely a softening blow for Castle Crashers. Let the indie game take all the heat while CC marches in without a a complaint about price.

It couldn't possibly be that there's just a massive amount of content in Castle Crashers, and it's a fucking steal at $15?

There are so many different modes and unlockables that people will be playing this and still seeing new things for weeks!

Castle Crashers for 1,200 is heaven!

Bionic Commando, like the NES days, does nothing for me. Maybe I just don't understand it yet.

It doesn't matter how much content is in it when we've been programmed for almost three years with a $5/$10 pricing structure. Every game that has been priced above that has gotten some amount of shit for it. Billiards, Lumines, Roboblitz, PA, and Braid. Since Braid was so recent, Castle Crashers is merely riding in the wake of their controversy.

Then vote with your wallet! Meanwhile, I and many others will be enjoying the outstanding gameplay and multitudes of different characters to play.

I'll probably be picking up Braid at some point in the near future. I really liked the demo, but the $15 with little to no replayability kind of had me on the ledge. The incessant bitching over an additional $5 makes me want to buy it just to spite everyone. Maybe the dip in the economy hasn't hit me as hard as others, but $5 just isn't a big deal to me.
