Considering Too Human has a release date of August, I'm guessing that.

When I first tried the demo for Blue Dragon, it didn't impress me, but I bought it used at an EB B2G1 sale, and I've been really enjoying it. It's not real deep or heavy, but its fun. Only thing I don't like is that some of the classes don't have much appeal for me, or much to motivate my choosing them.

I've got Lost Planet, and it's a pretty good, shallow, third person shoot-em-up, with a bit of B-movie feel to it. Although I'm stuck at chapter 4 or something, where I'm having trouble making a jump (why do they add jumping sections to third person action games). Never tried The Darkness.

In a Game Informer mag a while back (yeah, I know) they did a preview of Borderlands, I think it was called, which sounded really cool--multiplayer co-op action with Diablo-esque item collection in a "postapocalyptic future" or other planet. I haven't heard anything about this since then though, is it still a work in progress?

I'm not big on Halo either, but the stills from that look really good and since it's Halo I'm thinking the controls might be a bit dumbed down to make it's mass appeal that much greater. If the controls are simplified maybe that will make it playable on the controller?

I don't know, I haven't really followed the game development. But you really think that it's not going to come out at the announced August date? There's a difference between the broad estimates like "Coming Fall 2007" to having a specific day.

I'm not counting on it until it's in my hand. Games have had specific ship dates that have slipped before -- GTA4 (for example) was at one point announced for October 16, 2007 and they didn't move back the ship date until August 2, 2007. So I could certainly see a situation where we get close to August 19 (current Too Human ship date) and Microsoft announces they're pushing it back.

Yeah, but they announced that date a year prior. We are a few months away at this point. I think it's a solid date.

There are some good things on that "rumored" update list.

24. Option to disable invites from titles not on gamercard (excludes demos).
Well, it was either that or removing MARTIN5 from my Friend List.

I've run into this troubleshooting some connection issues. If you pull out your network cable while the box is on, it won't be recognized when you plug it back in unless you reboot the box.

Oh ok. The first thing I thought of was people pulling the plug slightly out to cause lag online.

A few that definitely sound good to me:
  • Introduce a group chat (4) for Private Chat and conferences through Video Chat.
  • Disable notifications to friends of user repeatedly signing into service (set period). - this is a big one. At least once a night there is someone logging in and out repeatedly, whether it is connection issues or updating a game, it's annoying.
  • Option to delete titles from gamercard with 0 gamerscore and 0 achievements (excludes some titles that will be re-added to launch another title).
  • Option to see what items will not work offline due to DRM license changing from Memory
  • Option to automatically associate new DRM to items downloaded for free.

Disabling invites for games not on your gamercard sounds decent, but less helpful than it seems. I have games on my card I've played but no longer own, rendering this feature pretty pointless.

How about they fix the damn DRM problem for good! Instead of only being able to see what will not work and what will. How is this fixing things all you had to do was sign out to find out what worked and what didn't.

You are, that's for free items only.

Yes, they have DRM tied to free downloads.

The next titles to be added to the Xbox Originals collection are Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. Both titles will be available on Marketplace on Monday, May 19th for 1200 points each.

Stubbs the Zombie was one of the wittiest and funny games i played from the last generation. It had some awesome easter eggs (the Patton scene) and one of the best game soundtracks ever (all covers of 50s pop songs). It might be cheaper to find it on disc - but people do need to check this title out.

I'm curious about the Gauntlet game as well. I love those hack and slash pseudo-RPGs.

Actually a quick glance at half.com & ebay shows it still fetches $20+ so this is actually a decent deal. GS is showing $12.99 though so with a 10% off (+Edge) the disc would be cheaper...if you can find the game.

I'll second that recommendation for Stubbs. It had its issues - mainly just a lack of polish and a sort of "low budget" feel - but as miyu said, the soundtrack and the humor are on point. The gameplay mechanics are fun, and while a few parts are a bit frustrating, it's an enjoyable experience overall. For those who can rent it, that might be a better option since it doesn't have a ton of replay value in my opinion, but at $15, it's a decent value.
