Oh, I know. But that doesn't make it less annoying when a game DOESN'T offer that. It seemed like a bit of an oversight in Fable to begin with and to hear that they had to be COAXED to include it in the sequel.. blah. Of course, with sex degraded into mini-games, it's suddenly not that surprising.

I guess you missed my "I loved the first one." post in regards to Fable today.

So what do you have against Oblivion - it's trounces Fable like a little bitch.

RichC2 05-13-08 03:03 PM

I'll side with Pixy on that one. Fable, shallow as it was, was actually fun. The same can't be said for Oblivion, or any of the Elder Scroll games really (Oblivion is my favorite of the bunch, but that isn't saying much.) Then again, people play WoW, yeah, figure that one out.

Fable = Fun.

Oblivion = Boring.

slop101 05-13-08 03:18 PM

ooh, can't stand WoW, but Oblivion was one of my favorite games (still play it), and while didn't think Fable sucked or anything, I found it to be absolutely average.

:hscratch:
But if you never played Oblivion, how would you know it was boring?

Though it's "action" elements do leave something to be desired, it's atmosphere, exploration and character building were beyond reproach.

Groucho 05-13-08 03:27 PM

I'll say this about Oblivion. It gets very repetitive after a while. BUT that's at least 20+ hours in (at least it was for me), which is as long -- if not longer -- than a lot of games are in total.

:lol: Sorry man, i didn't feel like searching for the Official Bioshock thread and posting my question in there. I'm thinking about picking this up finally but i thought the main reason i stayed away from it in the first place was due to the lack of subtitles but i couldn't remember for sure. Being hearing impaired and unable to master the art of reading video game characters lips, subtitles really help me figure out what the hell is going on story-wise.

This might help. It's a review of Bioshock from deafgamers.com:

That artwork is badass

Kicker_of_Elves 05-13-08 03:31 PM

Thanks Groucho, never heard of that site before.

PixyJunket 05-13-08 03:46 PM

Well, it seems like some things from MS Gamer's Day are going to be under NDA until E3.

Spoiler:
I'd tease, but then I'd be shattering the delicate sensibilities of the less deductive among us.

Good point, good point. :lol:

It just looks boring to me, it looks slow and prodding, it's visually unappealing and takes over 100 hours to get through. I could be missing a great game but they failed to hook me with what I've seen of it and if you hadn't told me it was an action RPG, I would have never known even after seeing it in action.

UncleGramps 05-13-08 04:07 PM

So I guess the Wiimote-style controller that was rumored to be linked with Banjo Kazooie is either not happening or is being kept under wraps until E3, huh? Same for that "Lips" thing too, I guess. Oh well.

I am over 180 hours in and it's not repetitive to me. I still have most of the expansion pack to go, this game will never get old!

dom56 05-13-08 04:46 PM

I pick up Blue Dragon and Call of Duty 2 at Circuit City $20 each. :)

I also saw Lost Planet Extreme Condition and The Darkness also $20 each. Are both of these game worth buying?

Microsoft already revealed information on Lips, little as it may have been, so I'd expect something more substantial to come out in the next couple of days along with Ninja Blade.

Ah, okay. I figured that if they didn't mention it today, there wouldn't be any big announcements until E3, but it would be nice to hear something sooner than that.

Microsoft's equivalent of Home.

I think they announced Alan Wake first. I've been reading about that game for years.

Still, I'm most excited about Alan Wake than Home.

We've removed all of Kazooie's moves and replaced them with blocks... They're magic blocks.
:lol:

JasonF 05-13-08 08:11 PM

Which will hit first -- Alan Wake or Too Human?
