I got to the last boss and cannot beat him. I don't like that you cannot save once you pass a certain point near the end. You have a couple hard fights before the big boss.

But you can at least retry the battle. Took me a few times to beat that last boss.

I beat TWEWY the other day. Absolutely love it. Probably my favorite game on the system. And agreed with Pixy that this game isn't leaving my DS any time soon, because there's so much more to do now.

True, retrying the battles is nice. But as I was playing before bed, I had to turn it off to get to sleep and that is why I have to go back through that section again.

That is awesome!

I thought about doing something like that as well.

Glad many of you stuck with this game. Almost everyone I know that played it stopped a few hours in and put it aside. Everyone I talked to had the same complaint of not liking the stylus controls and just not really understanding what the hell was going on with the game and the dual screen fighting.

I can't help much. I put the game fully on auto and never even look at the top screen during battles so I'm not going to master this one. I like it though and will try to stick with it. I've been dying a lot though so it seems a lot of level grinding is required before boss battles.

The game DOES throw an inordinate amount at you at once, I'll give you that. I said it initially that the game is extremely overwhelming when you first jump in. It's easy to feel that it's trying to do too much. But, it can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be once you get a little comfortable with everything that's going on. The touch screen controls are the best since Kirby Canvas Curse, I can't see how anybody would have a problem with that singular aspect. The only issue would be overlapping attack commands which can be rectified by pin priority and the sub button.

I think people are giving up on the dual-screen aspect too quickly, it's actually pretty easy. I won't say too much, but you can manually control your top character without ever looking at the top screen. You should only have to look up if you want to grab fusion stars or are fighting a boss (when dodging is a bit more important). Also, I've fought every boss up to the end at EXTREMELY low levels, usually 1 to 10, the only thing you gain from a level up is HP. Making sure you're always feeding your characters is more important than your essentially arbitrary level number.

Hmm, okay I think I know what you are talking about here. I will try to ween myself from auto as much as possible. I also don't think the stylus controls are bad, but I think people tend to start Meteos scratching when things get hectic and depending on the pins used you can really screw yourself up. I'm even guilty of this scratching thing on Ninja Gaiden DS when things start getting crazy.

Cool, let me know if it works out for you. It's more satisfying (and you get bonus experience).

And yes, this is definitely a game that validates a Hori screen protector purchase.

What exactly is it? A button, belt buckle, or just a knick-knack? Either way, it looks pretty cool.

This is maybe the second or third video game chachki I've seen you post that was homemade. Keep this up and soon you'll have to open Pixy's Emporium to satisfy dorks at large.

You seem pretty crafty, so if you can paint, you should look into Munny's. Their DIY designer dolls you can paint to spec.

It's a button (or pin, as they're called in game). It's the game's form of equipment.

Yeah, making game swag can be fun, I think it's rubbing off on me from my girlfriend who makes jewelry and goes to craft shows and such (she made me a clay Companion Cube for my birthday). She's actually trying to get me to scout ideas for video game related jewelry and all I could think of were Slime Earrings from Dragon Quest. Blargh.

So how did you make this pin? Is the white skull painted on the black disc and then somehow protected with a glaze of some sort?

I just printed the design on photo paper and put it into the plastic button shell, they sell them at Wal*Mart and all the craft stores (about $1 a piece), pretty simple actually. I'm trying to find the smaller, metal ones but no luck so far. I found a button maker but it seemed a bit too much for what would be a few buttons made.

Ok, I'm completely stuck on one part:

Spoiler:
I had to get rid of all the Noise around the two girls fighting over some guy or something. Then I get rid of the last Noise (two bear looking dudes), and they make up. Then the Game Master by Proxy shows up and belittles my characters for a bit, and then sends us up against another Bear dude, except this one has a bajillion life points and no matter what I try to do, I can't kill him.

Any suggestions?

Try different pins, move in and out with your attacks (I just refought this one last night and it's the one that has that NASTY downward slam attack), try wearing better clothes, try making the brand of your most useful or preferred pin(s) popular for the double attack bonus, raise your level for more HP, change to easy mode, keep Neku far away and focus on getting Fusion Stars with Shiki, etc.

I forgot to mention, make sure to feed your characters! Look for Attack and Defense bonuses first and then try increasing your Bravery and HP in small increments with the unlimited use of six bytes you get once you're full for the day.

Mingle mode was used to great advantage today while at Toys R Us to download Darkrai.
Once I finished with that I put this game back in and left it in mingle mode. I was able to score quick 10 connections over and over from all the active DS systems downloading and trading Pokemon and leveled up several pins within minutes.

I'm still taking my time on day 5 and really starting to love the combat. I'm getting the star rating almost every time now and starting to get effective with the top screen though I will lose it in some battles and have to give it back to the CPU. Overall though I'm having a blast.

I'm keeping it on normal with max drops and doing 4 battles at a time. I seem to be racking up money and experience pretty quickly this way. Feeding them is also real important as Pixy mentioned. It is the only way besides clothes to raise their stats like attack and defense.

I will say the game is reaching that tipping point where I'm seriously considering it one of the best DS games I have ever played. I'm a huge fan of New Super Mario Bros, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow and Advance Wars: Dual Strike, but this one is seriously challenging those as my favorite. I'll see when I reach the end.

I've got that beat, after much teasing through text messages, I was finally convinced to meander my way to the local anime convention to reap in the rich Mingle Mode benefits. I grabbed about 15 ESPers (and numerous civvies) and got to buy a LOT of pins I didn't have from their shops.

Hrm, i may have to advance in this game some before i hit up Origins later this month. It is a very large board game convention and i imagine a few people will have their DS on them. Do i actually have to turn mine on and actively buy pins when i am near someone or can i leave it in mingle mode all day and then check things out in the evening after the con?

After you start Mingle Mode, you can close the DS and let it do its thing. Any ESPers you run into are added to your Friend List and you have access to the shop at all times from that point, being able to buy whatever they had equipped at the time (save for the rare, post-game clothes and special material pins). It saves and shuts down after hitting ten signals though, so I'd check it now and then to see how fast you're getting hits on it.

I've had no luck finding anyone for the good ESP connections, but I'm finally figuring out how the evolutions work. I guess certain pins only evolve while in mingle mode, others only in standby and some just in battles.

I'm on my second day with Joshua now. Sucky partner honestly, but I guess the game was meant to get harder now.
