Kind of, it comes with a base that you slide the HD onto, then it connects to your PC via USB. Let me find a link to it.....

This is just the amazon link, not available new there, but I'm sure you can find it for $30 or so at BB or CC. xport

Well, if you're really smart you make yourself look as dumb as possible causing doubt (as clearly shown). Had he waited until the last day it would have been extremely obvious.

It's definitely the teen. He's the only one probably that would be remotely suspect. I think it's obvious that he's the one from what you've said. You need say something like "The last thing I want to do is call the cops for something like this," that kid will own up after he hears that. Like Liver said

SHAKE DOWN that kid.

LOL at the Achivement logo...

My wife wonders why I will not let ANYONE in our house while we aren't home...I get pissed when my sis-in-law comes over when we aren't home (not really, but I would never let anyone work in my house unless I'm there)

I was about to type something similar. I always make sure someone is there while anyone is working on anything. Not to offend anyone here who is in that kind of work, but I wouldn't trust any of them.

Same here. I have made one or two exceptions in the past, things like the building super that I've known for years, or I know my roommate is on the way home. But generally, it wouldn't even cross my mind as an option to leave anyone in my home unsupervised.

Ok, after four pages and still no explanation of L&O's shakedown... Is this another dvdtalker's exclusive club thing, like the pee in the butt (i never get that as well)?

Sorry OP, i feel bad for you, but look at it this way, you just upgraded to a 120gb hdd, isn't that nice? Cheer up, the missing hdd is not all that bad. Also, how did you get BB reimburse you the cost of the 20gb hdd?

A-aron 01-31-08 01:18 PM

BB isn't reimbursing me - the owner of the construction company is .. Now I just need to sit down and redownload everything that I can. I really hope I don't lose any of the stuff, as it would make me even angrier.

GoVegan 01-31-08 01:41 PM

I can't believe the owner of the construction company isn't shaking down his employees. There's no way I'd pay for one of my employees to steal from a client.

It really is his word against mine. The best he can do is buy me a new one. I would hope that he leaned on the kid to see if he had any involvement. Since I am not there during the day, I don't know if he has been back. My wife went home early yesterday and only the two older workers were there.

McHawkson 01-31-08 03:25 PM

That's true, OP has no way to prove that one of worker did stole it. However, only proof he has that there's workers working at his home while he was out on same day his HD went missing. It's really difficult.

Here at my work, we have a security cage for expensive product and we lost $10,000 worth of GPS for automotive, radios, DVD players (for auto/boat), and more - we couldn't prove who did. We have about 15 people working nightshift - which is best time to break in security cage and take thing.

We couldn't jump and accuse those nightshift employees without any proof. My work was afraid if we did, they would ended up being sued. I've been bugging them to install security camera, increase security at the cage - heck, I even suggested pitbull dogs.

I guess the remodel company might felt same thing with my work that they don't want to be sued if they made an accusation without solid proof.

Why - did they replace your HD with a ps3?

A-aron 01-31-08 07:25 PM

I can only re-download 6 at a time, and some of them (map packs, GH3 and RB packs, and full games like Bomberman) take some time to complete

Giantrobo 02-01-08 08:29 AM

I see the Friend Request I sent after your initial post about the HD being stolen was accepted. Was it you or whomever stole you HD?

Also, as of this post it says ZombieReign was on 3 hours ago, about 3:30am Pacific my time, playing pinball. Is that you testing your re-downloads?

Ocelot 02-01-08 09:09 AM

i'm sorry to be a pain in the ass, but can we stick to hdd for hard drive? it's not an attack, just that i have spent a lot of times in the HD forum... thanks for the understanding.

Ocelot, I think most people have you on ignore, so they won't see that silly request.

If HD is there, HD would not be in HD, you'd DL it to the HD, not use the DD.
