the foreman is supposed to call me in about an hour. If they don't give me an answer, I'm filing a police report. At least that way, if someone tries to sell one at a pawn shop, it should be flagged, right?
It is a shame that they haven't finished my kitchen so I could change the locks. Now I wonder how to handle them working here when I am not home. |
I doubt filing a police report is going to do much, so I wouldn't expect it back by doing so. They probably won't spend a second looking for it, especially when they find out how much it is worth. I think once you change the password on the account and get a new hard drive, you would only be out the price of the hard drive.
Definitely deserves a shakedown or two. |

I'm sure that's wrong. Maybe they just worded it poorly, or you got some clueless idiot on the phone. Your purchases are tied to your console itself and also to your gamertag, not the HDD. Anyway, there may be an issue with some of the stuff that was free that you downloaded in the past that isn't free or available now. But all the stuff you bought should still be on the marketplace, try checking your download history list (it's somewhere on one of the blades).
Definitely change your password ASAP if you haven't done so yet. |
I have 2 360's and put my gamertag on a memory card so I can move it easily back and forth. I have plenty of stuff downloaded on both hard-drives using the same account. I believe that wouldn't work if I wasn't hooked up to the internet at all times though.

At least I think that's how it works. |
If I were you, I'd start laying into the remodelers.

Okay. While your gamertag is stored on the HD by default, they won't be able to log onto it from a different console without recovering it. In order to recover, they will need both your email address and password, so your personal info (Name, CC, etc.) is safe. They also wouldn't be able to play any of your games, as that's tied to your console and GamerTag, and has nothing to do with the HD.
I'm with the others in thinking that one of the contractors wanted to upgrade from the Arcade and found a cheap and easy way to do that at your expense. Or as someone else mentioned, they may have left the door open, but if that was the case, I'd think someone would've taken the whole thing, and possible the Wii as well. |

I can't wait for people to start stealing HDs out of laptops instead of the whole thing.
|
Man, that is crazy odd that someone would steal the HDD instead of a game(s), etc that you may not realize are missing.. Very strange indeed..

You know, at this point, you could rightfully fire them and get someone else to come in and complete the job. |

acau9598, did you have your CC info stored on your HDD, and if so, have you checked to see if anyone bought points? |

I sure hope there was a shakedown today.

well, they say they didn't do it - no shock - and I say that it was there Sunday night, and gone sometime Monday. Oddly enough, the one young (teen) they have working says "I have a 360 but no hard drive. I just use a memory card." I felt like saying that at least now he doesnt have to use the memory card.
After going back and forth, the owner is going to buy me a new hard drive. Now the question is - am I screwed from all my previous purchases. I'm sure I have over $200 in downloads/points |
You're not screwed, but you won't be able to access them without being logged into XBL.
