As opposed to Harmonix putting out GH(11/05), GHII(11/06) and GH: 80's(7/07) in an 18 month span? Hello pot, meet kettle.

Gold stars, groupies, realistic amounts of money for a gig.

What I'm getting at is the the Solo mode is lacking. I appreciate the format(GH-like), but maybe it should be more like BWT, where you get those things, open venues around the globe and special gigs. Some of those gripes would go away though if I could just play BWT on Live.

Solo mode vs. solo mode though, RB loses, IMO. The graphics and character creation is great. In the way of the tracks though, it's kind of a wash. There are some great songs in RB but it's more like a beginners course into popular music(if that makes sense). i.e. Take a band and think of their most iconic song and put that one in the game, no matter if it is fun to play or not. Where in GH corner it seems songs are specifically chosen for the music not popularity.

Take 'Epic' by Faith no More for an example. Fucking killer song, but in the game, the guitar part is a snoozefest, it isn't particularly interesting to sing, and the drums are forgettable. It ONLY works as a multiplayer song. I know the game is Rock 'Band' but not everyone has friends over every night of the week. The solo mode should be just as fun as the multiplayer. That's why GHIII has succeeded so well.

My complaint with RB's solo mode is forcing the completion of all 5 songs. I like the 4 out of 5 with an encore better.

I think there are definitely some songs that are better suited to certain parts, Epic like you mentioned, and Roxanne is absolutely awesome to sing, but pretty mediocre on, say, the guitar. I don't mind it that much, but again, if I could skip some of them that'd be cool.

Oddly enough, my apartmentmates DO have friends over every night of the week playing it. I don't understand it, my band plays like once a month. I don't get an invite to play, even though I can play harder difficulties than they are, so I've resorted to just laughing at them and making snide remarks (like "Wow, humming the song, that's a lot of fun")

They need to add more female singer songs to DLC. I have downloaded everyone one of them. The Pretenders, Garbage, Yeah, Yeah Yeahs, etc...just not enough of them...I wonder what the DL count is for the Female songs???

Wife got me RB as an early bday present! Woot!

She bought it at BB. I'm wondering if I should go back and buy the extended warranty plan? I think it is $30. Normally, I don't get these because they are a waste of money but thinking with all the issues still with the guitar, pads and pedal that maybe it is worth it this time.

Thoughts?

No.

EA replaces the accessories should they malfunction.

Looks like a good trio of songs this week. I don't love the Garbage song, but it might just be a blast to play--I'm in for all 3; I've been jonesing for some new DLC

Weezer: El Scorcho - never heard it before. youtubed it. Very goofy song. If it was a buck...maybe but still unlikely. Out of all the Weezer songs, they nab this one? Pass. My request is the entire self-titled Weezer album from 2001. The whole thing would be a lot of fun to play. Catchy with great hooks, good guitars, fun vocals and still goofy (but not as goofy) lyrics. Just think how much fun "Hash Pipe" and "Island In The Sun" would be to play and sing. And my personal favorites Weezer song is on there as well - "Crab" and "Smile."

Garbage: Why do You love me - Another why??? Garbage has several great songs and this is the one they grab? Pass.

While these songs were on the list of leaked songs, an official statement has not yet been made by Harmonix. I saw that this week's songs were mentioned on joystiq as well as xbox360fanboy (I think). Anyone could've grabbed three random songs off of that list and said it was next week's DLC.

I'm not saying that these three aren't a distinct possibility, but nothing's 100% set in stone until there's an announcement over on the official RB forums.

I'll get STP and the Weezer song. The jury is still out on the garbage song. The music video i saw on youtube wasn't too impressive, but I'll check out the guitar charts once someone puts em up on tuesday.

How is the warranty handled now? I bought the game on Dec 5th, but saved it for Christmas. Is the guitar still covered? It's not responding to the downstrum. I went to the EA warranty page, but I'm having trouble getting past the page where is asks what system you purchased the game for, it looks like bad web code.

Yeah, looks like it's currently screwed up.

As far as the warranty process, EA doesn't seem to be requesting any sort of date verification. There are people who bought at launch still getting replacement pieces over on the RB forums. I'm sure they are keeping the policy relaxed until some of the issues die down.

Again, no announcement has been made on DLC. That post is pure speculation.

For what it's worth, Harmonix employees were closing duplicate threads on the official forums and directing people to this thread: http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29969

which is still open. So it sounds like they are not denying it.
