What tweaks to help night blindness are you talking about?

I updated my game and its pretty neat. I dont know if its because I was playing a 480p game recently but Burnout looks sharper even more vivid than I remember.

Re: Burnout Paradise

whoa 825MB update? That's huge.

The nighttime is now more of a moonlight effect. Before it was just about pitch black and it was very difficult to see anything. I hate how none of the streetlights provide any light whatsoever.

It's actually that huge because it incorporates every free update up to now, including bikes, weather, etc.

If you have previous updates on your HD, you can delete them and just keep this new one and you'll still have everything, except for the new 800-point party-pack.

Ahhh, cool. I kinda liked how it was pitch black (in the country), it made road rage fun. But I did hate how street lights were useless and it was pitch in the city.

Where do I go to delete old updates?

Re: Burnout Paradise

Under system memory/games/Burnout Paradise you just delete the updates prior to the new one. That's from memory so it might be off a step

Re: Burnout Paradise

Enjoyed playing the party mode, but honestly it is not worth $10. Not even close. I do love the other updates though. Tons of new paint jobs on the cars and new ads. The time square section looks very cool. Love the new light up bill boards and the way they look after you smash them. Cops and Robbers sounds like an awesome update.

Re: Burnout Paradise

I need to point out how fucking awesome it is to finally have a restart option in this game. It is so integral to how I play, that it's like I have a new game (I haven't played it for many months).

I hated the argument against restarts, saying that if you fail an event, there's another one at the next intersection. Well, if I do another event, I'd totally forget about the event I was on and would basically be going back to square-one if I ever attempted it again. Having a restart (which thankfully has little to no load time) keeps my head in that single event, and allows me to improve each time I attempt it. The more I try the one event, the better I know the path I need to take, it's possible short-cuts and less I have to worry about navigation, and the more I can concentrate on what I like about Burnout: the racing and the takedowns.

This game has improved for me exponentially, since I've been playing with the restarts because it lets me attack each event more methodologically, and it fells like I have more control over the game and how I play it, as before, it felt like a jumbled mess that I could not get into.

Re: Burnout Paradise

I've already finished all the events, but I'm happy the restart is there now. When they add new objectives on the island it will make it a lot easier to complete them. I understand some of what Criterion was shooting for with no restarts, but when I just barely lose a race I can usually win it if I try it again immediately instead of waiting.

With paint jobs do you mean finishes (I just see the regular 3) or different color varities? I think I noticed just brighter colors on pearlescents.

Loving the game again. The evening looks beautiful and the moonlight is very nice. I just wish I hadnt beaten the game already. It would be more fun now.

When do we get the delorean and ecto1?

All I have is a game data utility and saved data utility. Under game it has a 'v1.60' but isnt that the install? Under saved it has the last time I played and it autosaved.

Not seeing anything called system memory

Party mode has a lot of new paint jobs and it looks like some of the vehicles have slight paint job tweeks and design changes. I haven't played in awhile and don't use many cars beside the Hawker Solo so maybe I just think they are changed.

RAvenous I am talking about in the 360 menu under memory, then games, then Burnout Paradise you should see 4 saves depending on how many updates you have the saved game, the bike update, the cagney update, and then the party update you can delete bikes and cagney which combined are about the size of the new update

I disabled the night a long time ago
I guess I'll enable it again. I just changed the game to be in the day all the time, because it was too hard for me to see in the dark.

Same here - I found the night-time to be a pain in the ass. Did they change it and make it more playable?

Well I only have it on PS3, guess I shoulda mentioned that. Im guessing than that old updates are written over with new ones and having old ones arent a problem; anyone confirm?

Re: Burnout Paradise

I'll buy the whole package.

So how much will you have to pay in order to tool around Paradise City in a reasonable facsimile of K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, The Dukes of Hazzard's General Lee, the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, or the Delorean from Back to the Future? Well that depends on how you're willing to pay, partner. Three of the cars will be available come Thursday for 160 Microsoft points or $1.99 a piece, while one is a bit pricier at $3.99 or 320 Microsoft points. Can you guess which one costs the most?

It's the one we've been drooling over the longest, of course. The 88 Special, which channels Doc Brown's ride from the classic Back to the Future movie series clocks in at double the normal price, possibly due to its unique hovering action. It's two cars in one!

those who can't decide can also pick up all four Legendary Cars for the low price of 600 Microsoft points, or $7.99 real money points, which is a savings of $2, give or take. Me? Going to have to opt for the who shebang. As a child of the 80's, there is too much nostalgia here for me to pick just one.

Re: Burnout Paradise

thank goodness they didn't try to sell them for $15.

$8 is okay for me. I wonder if others online can see our car?

I'll also buy the car pack, as I'm having a lot of fun with this game right now.

Thanks for this, because I honestly didn't even know I could disable nighttime driving in this game. It's a pain.

Re: Burnout Paradise

Just picked this game up about a week and a half ago and I'm loving every bit of it. Already working on my Elite license and getting a better feel for the layout of the city. The only gripe I have, and it's a really minor one, is that the game doesn't default to my custom playlist when I start it up.

Also, I can only land barrel rolls maybe 10% of the time. I spent about 30 minutes practicing them with different cars in the airfield last night and didn't really get any better at them. Are there any tips you guys can offer up, or does it just take lots and lots of practice?

That car pack is mighty tempting, but I think I'm gonna hold off until I've unlocked all the cars in the game. I haven't even started playing with the bikes yet.

Re: Burnout Paradise

for barrel rolls, once you get the hang of having one wheel on the higher ramp and one off of it, landing them is easy. Push the thumbstick in the opposite direction you are spinning to straighten out your car and it should land with no problem.

Re: Burnout Paradise

The cars are very cool, but $8 cool? I don't know. I paid it, but honestly Echo 1 and the General Lee kind of suck. I love jumping and hitting the horn, but that will get old eventually. The Knight Rider one is a great speed car and maybe the only fast car with full armor. Could make marked man and road rage a real blast to play. The Delorean is also kind of cool and you can pull some nasty barrel rolls while hovering. I almost landed a 5 spin one in the quarry. They should have kept the cars at a buck a piece though. $8 for 4 cars is kind of a tough sell.

Echo 1? No, no, no.

I have to download this, I think $8 is fair. Especially for the amount of free stuff they have released and will release.
