The nice thing about the sponsor cars is it can help you get better cars earlier in the game. You can get the Gamestop and I think the Best Buy one once you get the A license which is before you get these cars normally in the game. The others you need your Burnout License to unlock. My favorite is the Steel Wheels car. It is a great balance of strength, speed and handling and makes winning all the road rage and marked man events much easier.

Downloaded the update last night. Didn't take terribly long. I will have to try the game tonight for a little bit. I haven't played it since it first came out.

The Playstation Blog confirmed the PS3 version is updated on the 18th, but I don't know if the 360 has to wait this time. Hopefully both are updated the same day.

I downloaded and play a bit of it this morning (10% complete with the bike expansion). The control is quite nice, the crashes are unrealistic (but in order to keep the rating I understand why the rider dissappears). However, my main gripe (which is by no means a real gripe as this was free content) is that while we can flip cars and do flat spins, while on a bike this is impossible. The only thing given is a wheelie. While I know in reality doing a flip on a street bike is most likely impossible, this game is clearly an arcade racer.

I gotta say I don't like it at all. I haven't experience the night/day transitions, but the motorbikes are pretty... meh. The crashes are unspectacular, or just not there at all! I crash into a wall, and I'm instantaneously transported backwards a few feet. No crash animation or anything! LAME! It's fun to drive around on the bike, but I wanna see crashes! If you can't bring the crashes, don't put out bikes!!!

I'm definitely enjoying it.
I do wish that the crashes were a bit more dynamic and that there were other motorcyclists on the road and that you could race them. But hey! They didn't have to provide this update at all and it's very easy to not play with the motorcycles.
It does feel a little bit like driving on a rail (as someone mentioned above) but for me it's breathed some new life into an already great game. The maneuverability of the motorcycles has also allowed me to try some stuff out in Paradise City that I would have been unable to do otherwise.
I also had a lot of fun getting online last night and completing many of the Freeburn challenges with people.

Love the Bike pack. Some of the burning routes are very cool since they have added checkpoints. I've already finished Road Rules on daytime and about half the burning routes. I still have a lot to do online and that will probably be next up. The crashes may not be as spectacular, but this pack was added for more racing and not for more crashing.
This has been my game of the year all year and it just keeps getting better. Bring on the island.
